Looks like AMC is leaving the kitchen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has cancelled Feed the Beast after only one season.
The drama starred David Schwimmer and Jim Sturgess as two childhood best friends who try to open an upscale restaurant in the Bronx. The cast also included Lorenza Izzo, John Doman, Elijah Jacob, Michael Gladis, and Christine Adams.
Even for a cable series, Feed the Beast performed poorly in the ratings. Season one received an average of only .13 in the 18-49 demo and 447,000 viewers.
From AMC:
We have great respect and admiration for the entire team associated with Feed the Beast, starting with [showrunner] Clyde Phillips, [stars] David Schwimmer, Jim Sturgess and our studio partner, Lionsgate. We are thankful for the opportunity to collaborate with them and appreciative of their talents, dedication and care. Unfortunately, the show simply didn’t achieve the results needed to move forward with a second season.”
What do you think? Do you see Feed the Beast? Are you sad or surprised the show was cancelled?
Was excited for a season 2, very disappointed. At least do some kind of wrap up and don’t leave fans just hanging! Do a 2 hour finale! Damn!

I am so disappointed. I loved the show
I am really disappointed that it was cancelled. It was a great show , wonderful acting and something different. I guess the general public wants cookie cutter shows- doctors/lawyers/aliens/fbi/fire department.UGHHHHHH. Please another network needs to pick this one up!
I really liked it too! Bring it back
It’s too bad Feed the Beast didn’t grab a bigger audience. I found it well written and acted, with compelling story lines and performances. But looking at the ratings, it’s pretty obvious it was doomed after the first episode – the audience dropped by almost 2/3 after the first episode and never really rebounded. I don’t remember specifically how far into the story the first episode got, but obviously not far enough to keep the majority of the audience. Too bad, as the story definitely developed strongly through the season.
you messed up cancelling feed the beas! it was a great show! plus you left us on a cliff hanger you people have no concept of what is good I am so disappointed in you
Dang…another one of my favorite shows cancelled. I swear to god, networks have no idea how to promote their shows properly. I have to admit, when I seen the promotions for this show, the subject matter did not appeal to me at all. The only thing that caught my attention was the actors. Normally that would not be enough. However, and over time, I have come to the realization that if… Read more »
I was looking forward to the next season. I thought the show was great and would be around for quite a while. The last season ended on a :cliffhange”. Now I will always be wondering what would happen. What a shame to see it go!!
I loved the show. Not sure why it didn’t catch on. Chefs are in these days. Wish it would get picked up by another network.
