A couple weeks ago, we reported that President of CBS Entertainment Nina Tassler said that the network had six leftover episodes of Flashpoint and that they “most likely” would air over the Summer. She noted that the TV show has been a good utility player for CBS but didn’t indicate if it had much of a future there.
CBS licenses Flashpoint from Canada and ran most of the season three episodes last summer. CTV has already ordered season four and those 18 episodes are currently being produced.
It’s now being reported that CBS has licensed seven of those new installments of Flashpoint, will combine them with the leftover six, and run the 13 episodes this summer.
ION has purchased a syndication package of the 62 episodes of Flashpoint, including the 11 episodes that CBS didn’t purchase. The cable channel is expected to begin running the series sometime after the CBS run.
This is certainly good news for faithful viewers but it seems like this may signal the end of Flashpoint on CBS. Fortunately, it looks like the show’s future isn’t dependent on CBS’ participation since CTV ordered season four without the US network.
What do you think? Are you glad to hear there’s more Flashpoint coming?

This is a terrific show. I look forward to summer for warm weather and Flashpoint. It’s a shame CBS doesn’t promote this show. It has great story lines, great characters and great actors. I’ll be very disappointed if it’s not back for a full summer this year.
Great show. I will follow it wherever it goes. CBS quit getting rid of good shows.
Love the show, and speaking from criminal justice experience…there are many realistic elements here….just enough substance along with the stresses of personal lives without becoming a soap opera.
Am really glad to hear that it certainly sounds like Flashpoint will remain a TV show that is worth watching for another season.
Yes !
My whole family LOVES this show and the characters! Hey CBS… What’s up with the delay?
Keep it. quit pulling good shows
Why do you keep letting us get hooked on your show and thenm you pull them. Moving to another network.
I think it is the best TV show I have ever seen. I can’t understand why, since everyone has such great things to say about it, and how much they miss it, why CBS doesn’t have in on as a regular prime-time show. However, I do appreciate the summer shows that CBS airs, but would love to have it on during the year, instead of having to wait through the dreary winter, with nothing else to watch on TV. My mother would have LOVED Flashpoint! She was 90. Unfortunately she was in a facility without TV, and passed away August… Read more »
This is one of the best things and one of the worst things I’ve ever heard. I don’t know what kind of expert Nina Tassler thinks she is but she has no taste when it comes to knowing a great show when she’s sitting on it. FLASHPOINT not only has such a creative staff, with their always interesting story lines and realistic effects but they have the most absolute suburb cast in TV today. CBS gave FLASHPOINT no help, they had little or no advertisement to show off this great gem. You heard about NCIS, The Mentalist, etc. they were… Read more »
I am anxiously waiting for the new episodes of Flashpoint and hope that CBS will purchase the remainder of the shows and replace some of those awful shows they seem to want to run!! The actors/actress are great and love them all. Flashpoint is the best and I love it
Please bring back Flashpoint. It is a very good show and CBS will be making a huge mistake if they don’t bring it back.
Good riddance. Never been much of a fan of Enrico since his “Just Shoot Me” days, and he just doesnt convince me he’s an elite SWAT cop. Best thing about the series was they finally did something in Canada, not LA or New York based.
I can’t believe that CBS leaves on some shows that are sooooooooooo stupid and they have not aired FLASHPOINT. What a good show it always on me on the edge of my seat. It completely held my interest the whole hour.
Shame on CBS
I am not a fan of “Cop” shows, but this show really rocks! It never slows down from beginning to end of each episode. I hope CBS doesn’t cancel it, but I will follow this show wherever it goes (if possible).
I really enjoy this show and am excited that they havent cancelled and will be disappointment if at any point they do. SO hopefully they dont and this can always ROCK! ☼
