Doctor Henry Morgan may be immortal but his TV show isn’t. ABC has cancelled the Forever TV series after one season of 22 episodes.
On the Forever TV show, New York City’s star medical examiner (Ioan Gruffudd) can ascertain things that most can not because of his vast experience — he’s been alive for 200 years but can’t figure out the how or the why. The rest of the cast includes Alana de la Garza, Lorraine Toussaint, Donnie Keshawarz, Joel David Moore, and Judd Hirsch.
The series debuted last September to a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.26 million viewers. The ratings grew for episode two but they started falling after that.
Though the Forever series had some very passionate fans, that devotion didn’t translate into positive ratings. The numbers were pretty poor for much of the season and the show ended up averaging a 1.12 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.93 million viewers.
As a result, ABC has decided against ordering a second season of Forever. The last episode aired earlier this week and unfortunately left viewers with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Did you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season? Why do you think it didn’t catch on with a larger audience?
All the rubbish out there and they cancel this. It had so much more potential. Shoul have got more writers. It could have been like interview with the vampire (without the blood). The possibilities were endless.
It was a good show. It’s like Caprica, they cancelled that just when it was getting started. They should have used Adam more, it would have been better. Instead of making him some crazy *******, henry and he should have had some long chats about the past. Now that would have been nice.
Just started watching this yesterday for the first time, it’s a great show, great acting and enjoying it a lot. It should’ve had more seasons
My husband and I just found series one and we are very annoyed that no season 2 was done. Just when we find a good show that we both greatly enjoy, we find that it went no further. I can’t even imagine why.
Very disappointed to learn of the cancelation. The show has wit and style — too rare in TV these days. Also enjoyed the lack of foul language and the minimal focus on sex (except for episode 7, of course). It would have been nice to learn why Dr. Morgan suddenly and inexplicably became immortal. The writers might have had a hard time explaining that, though, this side of heaven, that is!
I Really Hope that they Decided to do a Season 2.
season 2 pls. I loved this show
I loved the series and was extremely disappointed to find out there wasn’t a second season after watching on CWseed. Should definitely bring this one back, fantastic story, all the characters really fit the roles, and each episode getting a little closer to the overarching theme of the story makes binge watching worthy.
i ment to say my family watched the whole season again on CWSeed we hated ABC canceling it we loved that show ! the actor were great the writing was fantastic!
