Doctor Henry Morgan may be immortal but his TV show isn’t. ABC has cancelled the Forever TV series after one season of 22 episodes.
On the Forever TV show, New York City’s star medical examiner (Ioan Gruffudd) can ascertain things that most can not because of his vast experience — he’s been alive for 200 years but can’t figure out the how or the why. The rest of the cast includes Alana de la Garza, Lorraine Toussaint, Donnie Keshawarz, Joel David Moore, and Judd Hirsch.
The series debuted last September to a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.26 million viewers. The ratings grew for episode two but they started falling after that.
Though the Forever series had some very passionate fans, that devotion didn’t translate into positive ratings. The numbers were pretty poor for much of the season and the show ended up averaging a 1.12 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.93 million viewers.
As a result, ABC has decided against ordering a second season of Forever. The last episode aired earlier this week and unfortunately left viewers with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Did you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season? Why do you think it didn’t catch on with a larger audience?
Leave Forever alone, cancel A. B. C.
I love the show Forever and was very disappointed to hear it’s been canceled. Please reconside!!!!
I really liked the show forever ,it always had good story lines .Too bad …it seems everytime shows i like are always being cancelled .
Who do we write to to get some attention here? I feel like they dropped on of their best shows in years simply because it wasn’t hip enough for the young crowd. I want to give them a few thoughts off the top of my head in hopes that someone there has some common sense or can explain why this was cancelled: Not everyone likes Dancing with the Self Absorbed; Marvel comics belong on the big screen, not the television set unless it’s movie time. We need more thought provoking shows, ones that can get those brain cells moving, not… Read more »
I really enjoyed Forever, I am very disappointed to read that it has been cancelled. There are not too many good shows on TV anymore. So many reality shows!! It needed more advertising!
I think it is unrespectfull to all of us fans to end this marvelous series.
I liked Forever very much, and sorry to see it go!
One of the best series, it is a pity that abc terminate it.
I hate that. That absolutely sucks. Especially with the way it ended. That is sooo unfair to the fans who followed the show.
Very sorry to see Forever was not picked up for a season 2 and more
I thought it was an entertaining show, I looked forward to seeing each week. I am sorry o see it cancelled.
Forever was great show and should be renew. The time slot was part of the problem and the fact ABC did not advertise it like they did those Marvel comic shows. I guess I will return to CBS for my viewing.
I think you are right but what can you do.
This show was a rare addition to … “A New Sci-Fi” or “Religious/Sci-Fi ” TV Show. It , as you know, had enough potential to succeed making you oodles of money.
Who paid you to back off?
It was great! It was the only show I found deserved to watch last season! It would have been a TV legend if it had continued!
