What’s This TV Show About?
A Freeform family drama, The Fosters stars Teri Polo, Sherri Saum, Hayden Byerly, Noah Centineo, David Lambert, Maia Mitchell, and Cierra Ramirez. The story centers on Stef Foster (Polo), a dedicated police officer, and school administrator Lena Adams (Saum). An interracial lesbian couple, Stef and Lena are raising a blended family of foster, biological, and adopted kids, in San Diego.
Season Five Ratings
The fifth season of The Fosters averaged a 0.25 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 619,000 viewers. Compared to season four, that’s down by 27% and down by 23%, respectively. Learn how The Fosters stacks up against the other Freeform TV shows.
On January 3, 2018, Freeform ordered a spin-off and announced The Fosters ends with a three night event. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Though the ratings are still positive, I wouldn’t be surprised if this TV series ends with season five, and that nice 100 episode sized syndication package. Remember what happened with Switched at Birth. Although its fourth season received higher ratings than season four of The Fosters, eventually, Freeform announced that family drama would end with season five. I’ll keep an eye on the Nielsens, so subscribe for free updates on The Fosters cancellation and renewal news.

It would be very disappointing (to say the least) if there wasn’t a season 6 of the Fosters. This show makes reality a reality for most, it touches on everything that other shows are afraid to put out. I’m sure there are many that this show has helped secretly, whether it be ‘coming out, biracial relationships, being confused, living with 2 parents that are the same sex, being a foster child or going through the system, being abused, etc’. There are so many real life issues that are addressed on this show. It would be a travesty to cancel it!!… Read more »

I hope they renew this tv show because it so good. They did get rid of Wildfire and it was on here as good tv show. This one should get renewed. Please. Why take way good shows when they are good and when people get into them and wanting more next thing you know they are gone. Why do that to this one it is good . We need to see Callie graduation and her foster bothe too and Mike and Luann wedding and what’s going happen to the school there is so much unknowns

Definately renew this show. There isn’t a lot that u can watch with ur family. This show touches on issues that need to be addressed.
