Holy chalupas! Netflix has renewed its new Fuller House TV series for a second season, according to Variety, five days after the first season started streaming. It looks like creator Jeff Franklin’s confidence in a Fuller House renewal well placed. Franklin was also right not to trouble himself with poor reviews of the Full House sequel. Will he score a hat-trick and get Mary Kate Olsen to appear as Michelle Tanner in season two (Ashley Olsen is rumored to be too camera shy, these days). Fuller House stars Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and Andrea Barber, reprising their respective Full House TV series roles.
The cast of Fuller House also includes a new batch of kids. Michael Campion and Elias Harger play D.J. Tanner Fuller’s sons, Jackson and Max, with twins Dashiell Messitt and Fox Messitt playing her baby boy, Tommy Fuller. Soni Bringas is Kimmy’s daughter, Ramona. Scott Weinger recurs as Steve Hale from the original series. John Brotherton is D.J.’s new love interest, Matt Harmon. Bob Saget, John Stamos, Lori Loughlin, and Dave Coulier occasionally guest star, when even more huggers are needed. Juan Pablo Di Pace recurs as Lola’s dad and Kimmy’s ex-husband (and current love interest) Fernando.
In Fuller House, recent widow D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Cameron Bure) is mother of three. Her husband, Thomas Fuller, Sr. is a firefighter who died in the line of duty. This newly single mom is a veterinarian, who can’t imagine how she’s going to keep it together, now that she’s on her own.
In the series premiere, Danny Tanner (Saget) and wife Teri (Eva LaRue), are leaving San Francisco for Los Angeles, as are Rebecca (Loughlin) and Jesse Katsopolis. Danny and Becky are leaving their local Wake Up San Francisco morning show for to host a national morning talk show, Wake Up USA.
Jesse has gotten a gig as General Hospital‘s musical composer (Stamos got his first big break on GH). Their twin sons Nicky and Alex (Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit from the original series) are in their sixth year of college with big plans to open a fish taco truck together. Joey Gladstone (Coulier) has resettled in Las Vegas.
When all the original series’ adults realize D.J. needs the sort of help they once gave to Danny after wife Pam (Christie Houser) died, they’re ready to abandon their plans and remain in San Francisco as D.J.’s support system. That’s when Stephanie and Kimmy step up. They decide to do for D.J. and her kids what Joey and Jesse once did for Danny. Instead of selling the family home, Danny lets D.J. and company remain.
What do you think? Have you watched the Fuller House TV show yet, on Netflix? Did you expect it to get cancelled? How do you feel about it being renewed?
this show is the best and still funny the cast is great,i even love the kids, loving the flashbacks and still missing my Michelle but loved seeing everyone else on the show. Thanks for making a second season,i still havent finish watching the first,im taking my time,i am loving it so much.
I was an original viewer of “Full House” and I saw all 13 episodes of “Fuller House.” I was hoping the show would be good. Surprisingly, it wasn’t bad. The first episode of the new series is basically the original cast reuniting. The next set of episodes is D.J. Stephanie, and Kimmy’s story with their respective kids. It was fun watching them and I was impressed with Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie) and Andrea Barber (Kimmy) getting back into acting after decades away from the camera. They did a super job…and Kimmy stole the show. While there were some adult themes, the… Read more »
Loved the show, and my kids loved it too. Better than any of the boring sitcoms on the Main Street channels. They did a good job of bringing the old characters with their children into the present. I’m glad they are doing a second season and so does everyone I know.
Watched the first episode, it was awful. I can’t believe they picked this crap up for a second season.
I’m glad they renewed it and Scott people like you we don’t care what you think cause us true die hard fans wanted this show to come back. If you don’t like it then don’t watch anymore
The first episode is sentimental and kinda rubbish, but by the 2nd and 3rd episodes it really does find its groove. I went in to this with low expectations, expecting it to be like Girl meets world, which i couldn’t even get through. But this, this was good, and it kept getting better. The ladies really gelled, and the kids weren’t annoying. Definitely gonna watch the 2nd season 🙂
I couldn’t watch this sh-t after Stephanie’s stupid British accent. What the F was that all about. Minnie Gibbler needs to get killed off pronto. She’s as annoying now as she ever was. The show is absolutely dreadful
