As has become the norm, ABC didn’t announce if General Hospital had been renewed for another year but the show wasn’t cancelled either. They just kept it on the air. The network did cancel The Chew (which replaced All My Children in 2011) so they could expand the Good Morning America brand with GMA Day. Clearly, the ABC execs aren’t afraid to shake up the status quo again. Will General Hospital survive to see a 57th season for the 2019-20 broadcast season? How will it do in the ratings? Stay tuned.
Debuting on April 1st of 1963, General Hospital revolves around the loves, lives, and deaths of the people of Port Charles, New York. The current season’s cast includes Maurice Benard, Tamara Braun, Steve Burton, Matt Cohen, William deVry, Chad Duell, Michael Easton, Hayley Erin, Genie Francis, Nancy Lee Grahn, Elizabeth Hendrickson, Briana Nicole Henry, Rebecca Herbst, Roger Howarth, Finola Hughes, Lisa LoCicero, Eden McCoy, Billy Miller, Kelly Monaco, Emme Rylan, Michelle Stafford, Kirsten Storms, Donnell Turner, Maura West, and Laura Wright.

I’m a big fan of GH leave the soap on. There has been many soaps removed and I hate that. You get into it then bam they take them off. Stop give us something to enjoy, leave it on.
Leave General Hospital on. They have already taken many of the soaps off air. I love my soaps and this is my favorite.
I still watch & like General Hospital. On days I can’t watch, which are few, I’ll watch it the next day on Demand. Please don’t cancel it, it’s the best show in the afternoon!!

Love my GH!! I never watch it at the time it is on. I record it & watch it every night. I’ve watched it for 40 yrs, and would be crushed if it ever cancels. I’m certain the ratings are never accurate, being so many people record it.
It’s a shame they don’t take into account those over age 49 in their statistics, like everyone else doesn’t matter. I think they would find a lot of people in their 50’s watch it too, and the advertisers could market to them. Many people watch it because it takes their minds off the daily grind. I’m a longtime fan of General Hospital Luke and Laura getting married separated in trouble back together separated and now all the new stuff going on please please please do not cancel General Hospital.
