As has become the norm, ABC didn’t announce if General Hospital had been renewed for another year but the show wasn’t cancelled either. They just kept it on the air. The network did cancel The Chew (which replaced All My Children in 2011) so they could expand the Good Morning America brand with GMA Day. Clearly, the ABC execs aren’t afraid to shake up the status quo again. Will General Hospital survive to see a 57th season for the 2019-20 broadcast season? How will it do in the ratings? Stay tuned.
Debuting on April 1st of 1963, General Hospital revolves around the loves, lives, and deaths of the people of Port Charles, New York. The current season’s cast includes Maurice Benard, Tamara Braun, Steve Burton, Matt Cohen, William deVry, Chad Duell, Michael Easton, Hayley Erin, Genie Francis, Nancy Lee Grahn, Elizabeth Hendrickson, Briana Nicole Henry, Rebecca Herbst, Roger Howarth, Finola Hughes, Lisa LoCicero, Eden McCoy, Billy Miller, Kelly Monaco, Emme Rylan, Michelle Stafford, Kirsten Storms, Donnell Turner, Maura West, and Laura Wright.

Please renew General Hospital !!! We applaud the GH writers for so tastefully addressing everyday social issues in their story lines. We especially appreciated episodes involving Mike’s struggle with dementia. We have just battled through dementia with my mother – in – law…some of the story lines were helpful when seeking out further info on the subject and gave us encouragement to face what came next. Although…GH is fictional the writers have been good about identifying current social issues….THANK YOU! Please keep GH and encourage your writers to keep up the good work.
What happened to GH for 2/4/2019? That’s a HUGE drop. I question these ratings. Seriously.

PLEASE DON’T EVER THINK ABOUT CANCELING GH. I GREW UP WATCHING IT WITH MY GRANDMOTHER, AND CONTINUE TO WATCH IT TO THIS DAY! WE USED TO WATCH AMC AND OLTL, AND YOU TOOK THEM OFF. WHY? I love general hospital but sometimes the story lines are a bit rediculas and they dragging on too long
General Hospital is the only one of my soaps left. Please Please don’t discontinue it.
Please keep General Hospital on the air. You already cancelled the other 2 soap operas I watched. I record it every day.
I love GH !!! I hate talk shows, cooking shows, reality shows, etc. I don’t want to see any of that. I work 40 hours a week and record the shows and watch them at night and the weekend. Please don’t cancel GH.
What happen to the Q family? Are they all dead? Mac and Felicia? Scotty and Lucy? Bobbie and the Jones family? Can Tony come back from the dead and teach Carly some manners? How could they not tell that’s not Dr. Kevin? What happen to the Latino families in Port Charles? GH doesn’t have a Kristoff St. John on their show. All look like token black people to me. Time to put something more educational on tv in that time slot.
Luke was one of a kind and can never be replaced. No one else can be like Luke. Luke and Laura 4 EVER!! They have lots of cast members that can be utilized for better stories. So much violence already on tv and the news. We don’t need anymore Sonny mob violent stories. I do enjoy the Jason and Sam story. Soaps are about love stories and GH forgot that with the Sonny violence garbage stories. End this nonsense now.

I have been watching GH for over 50 years but recently I have found the plots to be very depressing and WAY to manipulative. I guess it’s their effort to be PC and force their opinion and/or life styles down our throat’s. I have friends and family that are LBGT and have no problem at all with any of it but give me a break!! And Oscar dying with a brain tumor? WOW! And I’m sick to death of Kevin/Ryan getting away with murder. And BTW, I still can’t stand the NEW Lulu. The original was perfect for the part.… Read more »
I am 60 years old and I have been watching since I was 5, I remember Steve, Jessie, Audrey, Phil etc it was black and white back then. Steve entered a hospital room and a woman’s face and head were covered in bandages. You’ve cancelled 2 other soaps to put on junk, people are sick of talk shows, game shows and cooking shows, leave us our day time drama.

Please renew all 4 soaps! I would like another soap on day or night time tv. I watch them all. They are unique shows and nothing compares to them. I love variety and these days its all news, gossip recycled actors club on every show and supposed news casts or reality crap. I record all my tv shows and watch when I like. Being disabled tv is my main entertainment I can afford. Please keep soaps.
