As has become the norm, ABC didn’t announce if General Hospital had been renewed for another year but the show wasn’t cancelled either. They just kept it on the air. The network did cancel The Chew (which replaced All My Children in 2011) so they could expand the Good Morning America brand with GMA Day. Clearly, the ABC execs aren’t afraid to shake up the status quo again. Will General Hospital survive to see a 57th season for the 2019-20 broadcast season? How will it do in the ratings? Stay tuned.
Debuting on April 1st of 1963, General Hospital revolves around the loves, lives, and deaths of the people of Port Charles, New York. The current season’s cast includes Maurice Benard, Tamara Braun, Steve Burton, Matt Cohen, William deVry, Chad Duell, Michael Easton, Hayley Erin, Genie Francis, Nancy Lee Grahn, Elizabeth Hendrickson, Briana Nicole Henry, Rebecca Herbst, Roger Howarth, Finola Hughes, Lisa LoCicero, Eden McCoy, Billy Miller, Kelly Monaco, Emme Rylan, Michelle Stafford, Kirsten Storms, Donnell Turner, Maura West, and Laura Wright.

I have been watching general hospital since I was a teenager close to 40 years. I watch it ever night with my husband and daughter. It is our family time and we hope it never gets cancelled
They need to take Hulu and other subscriptions into effect for ratings. Because I don’t have cable because I’m on disability but I do have Hulu. And every night when it hits 7pm, I turn on Hulu and watch general hospital. No matter where I’m at! Been doing this for several years now. I love it and would be so terribly sad for a long time if it went off the air. My mom use to watch General Hospital and now in my senior years i tape it everyday and it is the highlight of my evenings Please continue to air it So enjoyed your nostalgic episode today April 2nd.
I have watched General Hospital for nearly 50 years. I am a full-time worker but actually tape the episodes daily. Please don’t cancel General Hospital !

I remember the first episode at age 6. I was with my grandmother who was watching TV and said there’s a new show starting today so she turned it on. She always watched and so did my mom so i got to see a lot of the early years. I remember at one time Dr. Steve Hardy stating in an episode that it was San Francisco General Hospital but i see no mention of it anywhere now. I am 63 and I also love General Hospital. I also loved all my children and I also loved One Life to Live. If General Hospital is taken off the air I will no longer patronize ABC I will no longer watch any of the shows at all. I also know I’m not the only one who feels this way. Because I really do love General Hospital it’s my Escape and when I had my cancer is just going on and in the hospital it was what kept me sidetracked. Please keep GH on. This is the only soap I watch. Have been watching it forever, at least for the last 40 years. Could be longer than that. I record and watch it. I have never missed an episode since I started. Please keep it on.
Please keep GH on the air. I record every day and watch as soon as I get in from work. The new story lines are timely and reflect the troubles families/people actually face today.
