New York [For Immediate Release–February 24, 2016] Mother/daughter home renovation and flipping duo Karen E Laine and Mina Starsiak will star in the new HGTV series Good Bones, premiering Tuesday, March 22, at 11 p.m. ET/PT. Daughter Mina, a real estate agent, and mom Karen, a former lawyer, own an Indianapolis-based home renovation business with a mission to revitalize their favorite neighborhoods one house at a time. The 10 episode series willfollow the expert team as they buy homes in serious disrepair, sometimes gut them to the studs and transform them into stunning remodels.
“Home renovation series are among HGTV’s strongest ratings drivers,” said Allison Page, general manager, HGTV and DIY Network. “As Karen and Mina take on drastic home renovation projects, their fun and fearless dynamic adds an entertaining dimension to the series.”
In the premiere episode, Karen and Mina will tackle a dilapidated 600 sq. ft. one-bedroom home in the Barth neighborhood of Indianapolis. Karen, Mina and their team will rip out the floors, tear down the ceiling and strip the siding – only to discover, among other things, that the old wood-frame home is engulfed in termites.
“With every house we renovate, we’re raising property values and bringing new homeowners to the neighborhood,” said Mina.
Added Karen, “For me, it’s all about having an impact in our hometown and making it a better place.”
What do you think? Do you watch HGTV? Will you watch the premiere of Good Bones?
Enjoy the show neat to see them fixing up the ran down houses. Mina grew up next to my parents as a little girl, very happy for her n her mom
I really enjoy this show and these ladies! But I cringe t the end when they tell the price and the tiny profit they make. They should make more on each one! Love the show.
I’m from Indianapolis, and I was excited to see this show with my wife, as we love renovation shows. These women have the worst taste in staging and color usage. They must think they live in Key West from the colors they choose, especially on the exterior. If I lived in the neighborhoods where they fix the houses, I would pay the owners to paint the houses something less glaring or obnoxious. A couple of episodes I saw the houses were speculation houses and one they painted almost glow-in-the-dark yellow! Neighbors like the run-down house is getting fixed up, but… Read more »
Terrible. Please cancel this show with so many other great options: Lister Sisters (great new show), Flip or Flop, Property Brothers, Love it or List It, Fixer Upper, House Hunters, etc. Is it a home renovation show or a talk show between the Mom and daughter? They are so annoying! 0 out of 5 stars. 1/10.
Disappointing…annoying and uninteresting banter between them…the client family has 11 grandchildren and they chose white furnishings…
The furnishings are just staged.
Most rehab shows use staging. Except for maybe Rehab Addict.
Great show! Love the family dynamics! Enjoy Tad!
This show holds my attention longer than many HGTV shows! Really like the Indiana scenery.
Great show!! So refreshing, holds my attention more than some HGTV shows ! Like Tad and enjoy the family dynamics!!
Love this show! Love the relationship between mother and daughter and love the concept of changing neighborhoods vs house flipping!! I work with 60 plus people, everyone loves talking about it the next day, great show!!!
I REALLY like this show!! The camaraderie between daughter and mom is fun to watch, and I like how they completely rebuild these homes. They are not out to make a million dollars, but they do want to rebuild neighborhoods!! Great show!!!
Hate this show! Please bring back 10:00 pm House Hunters. So disappointed when it’s not on.
These two drive me nuts.
I was curious as to what they were going to do to the bungalow and was disappointed, VERY disappointed.
The two tone yellow stripe exterior paint-NO!! The colors could possibly work in Key West, but in Indianapolis??? NO!
As for the interior, two words PURE TACKY.
I muted these two soon after tuning in, as the are both annoying to watch and listen to, so suffice it to say, I won’t be watching again.
Horrible with colors. ..bright yellow striped house?? What??? Design Inside not any better. ..wow…bad. Mom and daughter cute but talk too much…show more of renovation
This is a great show. I was raised in Indianapolis so hearing street names that I know brings back such good memories. My dad worked in Fountain square. I had relatives that lived there to. It is a good addition to all your programming. Thanks for all you do.
Disappointed already. Being in the trade; I’ve are caught a few things they’ve done wrong with plenty of complaining. Always curious how these productions get by without complying to EPA lead removal codes.
I love HGTV… so this will be a show I’m going to look for and watch!
