After 13 years of movies and TV show episodes, magic is leaving the town of Middleton. Hallmark Channel has decided to end the Good Witch series so there won’t be an eighth season. The series finale airs on Sunday, July 25th.
A fantasy comedy-drama series, Good Witch stars Catherine Bell, James Denton, Sarah Power, Catherine Disher, Kylee Evans, Katherine Barrell, Marc Bendavid, and Scott Cavalheiro. Set in the town of Middleton, the show follows Cassandra “Cassie” Nightingale (Bell). She’s the owner of a shop called Bell, Book & Candle and is married to Dr. Sam Radford (Denton). Like her daughter Grace, Cassie has the gift of enchanted insight and magical intuition. The velvet pouches of soil discovered by Cassie, Abigail (Power), and Joy (Barrell) at the end of season six mark the start of a new Merriwick mystery for the cousins to unravel. This leads them to reflect on their pasts and how certain life events have impacted who they are now. Alongside the usual Middleton fun, season seven promises new relationships, personal challenges, and romance.
The seventh season of Good Witch is averaging a 0.12 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.53 viewers in the live+same day ratings. Compared to season six, that’s down by 29% in the demo and down by 18% in viewership. It’s one of Hallmark’s lowest-rated series but still does pretty well when compared to other cable dramas.
Here’s the series ending announcement from Hallmark:

Hallmark is making a huge mistake and from their mistake I pray another platform or channel will pick it up!!! It is a great show with a phenomenal cast that work so well together! With all the junk in television today why take away the shows that are entertaining to all age groups!!! It’s one of the only shows besides when calls the heart that I do look forward to watching! I used to enjoy their Christmas and seasonal movies but they are all the same now!!! No creativity!!! Well I hope hallmark feels good about disappointing all their fans!… Read more »
I totally agree. No more Hallmark for me. Please pick up on other channel please.
I’m very disappointed that Good Witch will not return in 2022. We have looked forward to seeing this show every year, pls don’t cancel this show. We watch Hallmark alot. Love xmas shows, regular shows. So pls reconsider. Thank you
I think you showed too many ads for the show. Felt like I watched it all the time because of the ads.
I really just discovered Good Witch a year ago. I really enjoy it so I went back and watched the old episodes on Netflix. I never really watched the Hallmark channel before. So now I guess I don’t need to watch it anymore now.
I’m very upset Good Witch is being cancelled. I’ve watched every episode and the movies. Look forward every season. My heart is broken
Hallmark needs to rethink this decision. Very disappointed with Hallmark. I kept the Hallmark channel at a higher cost so I could continue the watching The Good Witch.
Nooooooo! I have come to love and rely on the good witch. I love the characters, plots, and settings. In a complicated and challenging world I have come to rely on the Good witch to bring laughter and joy into my world. Charaters have come and go but we the devoted audience have stayed through it all. Please reconsider canceling this series.
Don’t cancel the Good witch. My favorite .eR
This is a terrible idea. Cancelling good witch is a poor choice. Will be sure to tell everyone to not watch whatever you put on Sunday nights.
Please Don’t cancel Good Witch it is getting interesting.. Put it on a different channel but don’t cancel it
NOOOOOO! I can’t believe they’re letting Good Witch go! It’s uplifting and adds positive unity to community, especially in the time the country is going through upheaval. I love the solidarity, family, suspense, and intrigue. I tape it while I watch it and go back in for rewatch,,,,, DONT GIVE UP on THE MERIWICK’s
My wife and I have enjoyed all of the Good Witch movies and t.v. series. I am sorry to see it canceled.
Good witch seems to have taken a turn to get a larger audience by attempting to copy “Charmed” with the 3 good witches, and by adding a gay element to a very enlarged cast of regulars. We loved it more when Cassie was the star, with husband and child and one at a time problems, not all the problems of too many cast members each week. The characters have become shallow and the kids are gone, replaced by cousin Joy. The writers have destroyed a great show and Hallmark noticed and cancelled.
Noooooo!@@! Please don’t cancel Good Witch. I’m sure the ratings will improve when people settle back to normal after the pandemic. Please bring it back.
Don’t cancel the Good Witch!! This show is a light on an otherwise dark tv landscape filled with guns, killing and hard-ass cops. I look forward to seeing this show every week. Please bring this show back before the actors find work elsewhere. I may end up canceling my subscription to the hallmark channel.
