TV show description:
The Graves TV show is a political comedy from creator Joshua Michael Stern. The story centers on Richard Graves (Nolte), a former President of the United States, his wife Margaret (Ward), and their children Olivia (Yorke), and Jeremy (Lowell).
Twenty-five years after the fact, President Richard Graves has an attack of conscience regarding the legacy of his two terms as POTUS. Now, he is embarking upon a mission to right all the wrongs he perpetrated from this nation’s “bully pulpit,” the Oval Office.
Richard’s epiphany comes just as Margaret decides the time is right for her to pursue her own political career. Now, she’ll have to campaign — all the while handling her husband as he turns over a new leaf.
Richard and Margaret’s daughter, Olivia, is a stereotypical self-destructive socialite. Meanwhile, their son Jeremy, who is just back from serving in Afghanistan, is trying to establish a new identity, apart from his famous, dysfunctional family.
Together and apart, the Graves family must deal with people serving their own agendas — from distraction and corruption to temptation and even loyalty. Will they stick it out together — or to one another? Stay tuned.
Series Finale:
Episode #20, “Spark Meet Gasoline”
Former President Richard Graves (Nick Nolte) faces the menacing nuclear missile he commissioned years ago and makes amends the only way he can. Just as Margaret (Sela Ward) is about to clinch the Senate race, events careen wildly off the rails. (Courtesy of EPIX.)
First aired: December 10, 2017
What do you think? Did you enjoy the Graves TV series? Should EPIX have cancelled or renewed Graves for season three?
Why is it that good shows get cancelled, and moronic shows continue on and on? “Graves” was a GOOD show. Sela Ward and Nick Nolte were great together, Helene Yorke and Chris Lowell were opposite ends of the “need to be slapped” stick, and I was really rooting for Callie Hernandez and Skylar Astin to come to their senses and end up a couple.
To the Powers that Be: It may not be too late to correct your mistake…
Uncancel this show! Nolte and Ward are excellent, giving a nuanced commentary on US politics.
This show should be UNCANCELLED. It gives rich commentary on contemporary US life.
Please don’t cancel this show. Have been a fan of Nick Nolte since the miniseries
“Rich Man-Poor Man” and love all the characters in this show.
I love this show..especially with the political climate we have now! Please don’t cancel!
Worth renewing show, especially with whats going on in the white house.
Worth renewing, especially now with all thats going on in the white house.
Please consider rescheduling rather than canceling. I believe that to cancel this show would be an error. Such a delightful series and one that we have shown to all of our friends and colleagues. This show will surely be missed. A political satire for sure and one that is filled with humor.
This show was terrific. The acting was outstanding, the writing was terrific. It sort of reminded me 6 feet under in that way. I am so sad to hear it was cancelled. It was smart and funny and very topical. Every actor brought a uniqueness to their characters that was beyond compare to most current shows. I can only hope Epix will reconsider or some other channel will pick up please? There are plenty of shows that have a long hiatus so maybe?
Just watched Graves-full of timely issues, humor and sarcasm-love this show only to learn it has been cancelled and after adding EPIX TO MY PACKAGE-BUMMER.Hope it will be reconsidered!
Can’t believe show was cancelled. It was a great show with timely topics. Probably too late, but please consider. We keep checking the TV listings and had no idea you had cancelled it.
I enjoyed the grovely manner in which Nick Nolte played the former Prez and enjoyed it. I wish
I love Graves. Please Renew it. The prez and first lady rocked it.
PLEASE RECONSIDER! Graves has been a breath of fresh air, and a light in the gloom of today’s television. The cast, including all lead, AND supporting actors/actresses, have been outstanding. The epiphany for Richard Graves, thanks to the beautiful Sammy, and the trials and tribulations of a disparate fractured family leave lots of room for thought. Philosophical perspectives are thought-provoking. My wife, some close friends, and I LOVE this show! PLEASE reconsider!
Graves has been a light in the darkness. My wife and i LOVE the originality and creativeness of this show. Wonderful actors, including lead, and supporting! Writing has been excellent. Love the epiphany Richard Graves has, thanks to the beautiful Sammy. PLEASE reconsider!
