Grey’s Anatomy will return to ABC for a 13th season next fall, and there is good news about one member of the original cast. Justin Chambers, the actor behind Alex Karev, revealed on his Twitter earlier this week that fans will see him on the series next season.
He was one of the many cast members that signed a two-year contract before season 11 began. That contract will end at the completion of this season. Chambers made it clear in an interview earlier this year that he had no intention of departing the long-running series.
Alex Karev was one of the original interns that began at Seattle Grace Hospital during season one. He has grown into a doctor with a focus on pediatrics. Much of his story on the series has focused on his romantic life. His character has been in two solid relationships during the run of the series.
The reveal by Chambers was a result of a fan question. He tweeted the following:

TV Line revealed that several other cast members have their contracts up this season. Those cast members include Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., Sara Ramirez and Kevin McKidd.

Grey’s is the best show that I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching. I’ve been a viewer since the beginning and watch the reruns daily on Lifetime network. I have to have my Greys fix daily even if it’s an episode that I’ve seen over and over again. Ty to all of the actors, writers and directors. Love you all.
