Grimm aired its 100th episode on NBC last week, and it has been a fight for the series to make it that far, according to David Giuntoli. He spoke about the series in an interview with The Los Angeles Times this week, and he made one shocking revelation.
Season six could be the last season for this series. NBC has not yet renewed the series though, so it could very well end with the fifth season. Fans will need to wait for news on the fate of the series.
The series’ 100th episode did answer a big question. Nick and Monroe found the treasure that was hinted at during the start of the series. They managed to uncover it on the last episode, and it had great power. It healed Monroe from an infected bite.
Giuntoli said the following about the future of the series:
“It’s very rare that an actor gets so many opportunities between “action” and “cut.” Most of your time as an actor is spent trying to get to that point, not living within those two points, and when you’re on a long-running series, you have so much time in between those two moments to actually yell “cut.” So, I’m ever grateful for all of the opportunities I get to kind of change it up — fix things, better things, tweak things. If we get a Season 6, it could very well be our last season, and it will be the first time that the writers would get to write to an ending. If we do, it’ll be a very fun ride, with major events.”
The series has been a Friday night staple for several seasons, but the ratings have seen a dip this season. Do you want a sixth season of this series? Tell us what you think.
To the dear producers of Grimm! The ONLY reason I pay to Hulu, is to have my Grimm right away.I will be canceling my membership in Hulu if the whole is cancelled. I have no TV only internet and I watched the Grimm on Hulu from the beginning, when Hulu became popular and was charging to see the current shows, I paid. So, please reconsider!
I hope they do not cancel Grimm. I have not missed one episode since it started and will most definitely continue watching until the end. I must agree with many other comments about the show taking a dip with its story line. My problem has been since Trubel came back into the picture. All of a sudden she’s riding a souped-up motorcycle, has more knowledge of Wesen than Nick and is now a member of a ridiculous secret underground government agency (a subplot that is already used way too much by many other shows out there). Add to that Juliette,… Read more »
Renew Grimm!!!!
Please do not cancel Grimm..it is far the best series on TV..Great characters and awesome monsters….Love it! Never missed a show…I will be very disappointed if you cancel this show!!!!
I sure hope Grimm cames back for another season. It really is so entertaining. Isn’t this what it’s all about?????
NBC, renew Grimm, please
Grimm is by far the best series I’ve seen in a long time. I first discovered the Grimm series as it was airing it’s 2nd season, so I watched the first episode of the 2nd season and I became hooked, so then I went back and started watching season 1 and I was still hook. And now in season 5 am I am still even more hooked. I have been trying to spread the word about Grimm as much as I can to people. It is fantastic to watch, even though the cast is filled with actors I don’t know,… Read more »
My husband and I really enjoy watching Grim but the time slot has nothing to do with it as we get it ON DEMAND when we are able to view in our own time slot! We like very little of what is out there, Limitless, Modern Family, and channel 13 Nature is about the only regular stuff worth the time and although Grimm has potential to be an excellent show sometimes the writing ,the dialogue is dulling forced., but there is something captivating about many of the stories and it certainly is fun fantasy Sci-fy . It would be disappointing… Read more »
Please renew Grimm! It’s the best show on TV! Our family looks forward to Friday nights, to watch Grimm, I refuse to watch reality TV, it’s awful. I love the story’s in the storyline thing that you have going on. Keep it up and on the air.
Totally in favor, and hoping fervently for, season 6. It’s easily one of the best shows on television, which, these days, seems to be the kiss of death…
I LIVE IN PORT ORCHARD, WA, & HAVE BEEN WATCHING EVERY SHOW FROM DAY 1. I LOVE IT & WOULD BE VERY SORRY TO SEE IT END. THEY ARE LIKE FAMILY NOW!!!! I WANT TO SEE NICK & JULIETTE BECOME A COUPLE AGAIN, THEY ARE SO REAL TO ONE ANOTHER!!! THE WHOLE CAST ARE GREAT TOGETHER!!!! WE FANS DESERVE ANOTHER SEASON OF THIS SHOW. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!
I live in Portland and am a neighbor of Giuntoli and Tulloch so I feel I have something of a vested interest in the show. That said, I fear it has well and truly jumped the shark. They need to tie up as many loose ends as possible before the 5th season finale and call it a day (imho).
ps: I shall never forgive the producers/writers for their failure to reward the talent of Russell Hornsby with a story arc of his own.
I love watching Grimm. They talk about the 18-49 age groups but I am 64 and I look forward to every Friday so I can watch another episode of Grimm. I really think the show would do better on another network. I watched the show that comes on before Grimm and other shows were advertised several times but Grimm only right before it came on. When I first started watching Grimm I had to look it up on the internet to see when it aired. This is my observation.
