We know there will be a third season of Happy Valley, but when will it happen? Recently, executive producer Nicola Shindler spoke with RadioTimes about the future of the BBC One TV series.
Created by Sally Wainwright, the drama stars Sarah Lancashire as Catherine Cawood, a West Yorkshire police sergeant dealing with family tragedy. James Norton, Charlie Murphy, and Siobhan Finneran also star.
In the interview, Shindler revealed they are working on a new season of Happy Valley but it won’t be ready until 2018 at the earliest:
We are working on a new idea for Sally for BBC1 which will be next year so the earliest Happy Valley would be would be towards the end of 2018 I would suspect.”
Good news is, Sarah Lancashire will be returning for the new season of the BBC One series:
She [Wainwright] won’t write the [Happy Valley] scripts for some time but Sally’s determined to do it, Sarah’s determined to do it.”
