Last season saw a big decline in the demo ratings for Hawaii Five-0. CBS renewed the series for a fifth season and reportedly ordered 25 episodes. Is this a sign that they plan to end the series or could it be renewed for a sixth season if the ratings are strong enough? We’ll have to wait and see.
A reimagining of the original Hawaii Five-0 TV show, this police procedural series revolves around an elite state police task force that fights crime in the 50th state. The series stars Alex O’Loughlin, Scott Caan, Daniel Dae Kim, Grace Park, Masi Oka, and Chi McBride.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/11 update: CBS has renewed Hawaii Five-0 for a sixth season.
Final season averages: 1.24 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.48 million total viewers.

Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a few weeks later.
For comparisons: The fourth season of Hawaii Five-0 averaged a 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.71 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Hawaii Five-0 TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a sixth season?
I love Hawaii Five- 0. Keep the show!
i want it to stay… love this show
This show has it all. It makes me laugh and cry. There is some comedy and some very touching episodes that bring tears to my eyes. I have watched it from day one and still enjoy every episode. It’s so much better than some of the really dumb sitcoms that are on. What about leaving a show on that people with brains can enjoy.
Great Show. Amazing actors. It should stay.
Renew it. Love the show.
we watch it here in the uk – we only get it on ‘sky’ – it is a shame as it deserves a wider audience but the UK networks tend to steer clear of imports these days, by and large – instead we are fed one awful reality show after another it is madness to put a show like this on a Friday night when typically your target audience does not watch TV, only to turn around and then wonder why you aren’t getting the demographics you want in the ratings – could it be someone at the network was… Read more »
I was busy on Friday, so I watched the 3-13 episode this morning online, and I must say it was very good. There have been some episodes in Season 5 that haven’t worked, but I like the ones I’ve watched recently, and I think the writers and producers have finally worked out the bugs of adding new permanent characters. From what I’ve seen from the ratings, the show seems to have a fairly healthy and consistent following, especially for Friday night. Why CBS decided to pull the show from its prime Monday night slot is beyond me, but the fact… Read more »
To Tony Defeo: Personally I don’t think 5 years is enough for a show that started out so great right out of the gate. This is just my opinion. H50 used to make me laugh so hard that I’d have to hit pause so that I could laugh and rewind. They cannot overdue the bromance. It’s been missing lately. I don’t know if Scott Caan has something else going on professionally or privately lately, but he’s been missing in action. The two new members of the team are, imo, just not fitting in. They are not that funny, except for… Read more »
To be honest, I don’t see the decline in the show you seem to see. For a show that everyone seems to love so much, people have been complaining about the chemistry of the other characters for the past four years. The only season that seemed clunky to me was the second one. Other than that, I think it’s done a good job developing characters and furthering story lines. Truthfully, I hated to see the Wo Fat character killed off in the 100th episode. However, if the plan was for this to be the final season, I guess that would… Read more »
If H50 is canceled, I’m done with CBS. It’s bad enough that Intelligence was not given a chance. I looked at the H50 ratings and I don’t see a decline overall, compared to last year. Yes, I do agree with some opinions that there have been some bad moves. Adding actors on a full time basis. Actors who don’t quite fit in. A couple who don’t fit at all. Why do networks always mess with something that already works as is? CBS is the worst when it comes to ruining a good thing. The four original actors just plain worked.… Read more »
it seems that 5-0 is trying to get itself cancelled. some of the shows are stupid and not
funny. it is not a funny show. what happened to scott caan????
he and alex are a good team. where is he???
get rid of the fat man. he is not funny
i think if you try to keep experimenting with new ideas and new actors 5-0 will not make the cut . ask pete carroll do what you do best. tell the lost mother to stay lost, the sister too
Keep Hawaii Five -0 awesome show
This show has to return, there’s nothing like this on TV. It is so relaxing to watch and so easy on the eyes! Love Alex and the entire cast!
Hi from Vienna, Austria (Europe).
I just wanted to say that I love Hawaii 5O and hope that there will be a 6.season!!!!!!
I think it is a thrilling and exciting series and if it they cancel it, we would lose one great show on TV. Especially there is no other Bromance like Steve’s and Danni’s. They are so sweet and lovely to each other. I would be really sad and disappointed if there is no continuation!!!
It should definitely be renewed for season 6 the show is to good to be canceled
I agree with Jeri that the show is great so please do not cancel. Friday nights are not the best night for TV viewership but Hawaii Five-O is a great start to the weekend.
Great show – why would you even think of cancelling. Friday nights at 9 pm is one of the worst spots to put a great program and it still gets a good audience. Try Thursdays after Big Bang Theory instead.
