Cullen Bohannon (Anson Mount) is a former Confederate soldier who’s trying to leave his past behind. AMC is hoping that viewers won’t leave Hell on Wheels behind and the TV series will still bring solid ratings so that they won’t have to cancel it.
The current cast of this gritty drama also includes Ben Esler, Colm Meaney, Common, Dominique McElligott, Eddie Spears, Philip Burke, and Robin McLeavy.
Below are the most recent ratings for Hell on Wheels on AMC. The second season airs on Sunday nights. There are 10 episodes once again.

What do you think? Do you still like the Hell on Wheels TV series? Do you think the show should be cancelled or renewed for another season?
This is a well filmed and superbly written show. It would be disheartening to see it end at this point. My husband and I eagerly await each episode.
Love the show! Only show I ever plan to watch.
Me and my wife watch it every sunday, our two teenagers have gotten into the show also, bring it back for a third season and even more seasons than that, the show should not end at all as of right now,it is the best show amc has to offer, bring back hell on wheels for a third season and cancel breaking bad which is the worst show i have ever seen on tv.
Please renew this incredible show. I haven’t missed an episode since it started. It’s a great start to each week. From all of the comments here and on the HoW/AMC website it appears there are thousands of us that are hoping for renewal. I’ve really enjoyed it from a historical perspective and as a great western. The acting and characters respresented are very rich. Please renew and just in case it’s possible, let Lilly live!
I don’t know where or who decides the demographic audience for Hell on Wheels. I am a 63 year old female and I love/loved the show. I was going for everything which was happening until that Norweigan/Swede (supposedelykilled) Lilly. That was just wrong. Please keep this series going. I and my friends will continue watching if she is NOT dead. The series is GREAT. Who needs another cop show?? Keep it up with the good western!
Everyone should check out the 4300 comments ( and growing ) in support of the series in the live talk forum on the Hell on Wheels website . There is a hitch, there will be a tremendous fan backlash and boycott of AMC if they do not bring on an announcement for Season 3, and this means war if the character of the fair haired maiden Lily Bell in not on board, alive and well. The writers should have stuck with the script . The fans are the ratings . Hell on Wheels is a really great , better than… Read more »
Yes! Please renew the series.
Network television has lost all its creativity. In the midst of CSI Anytown, USA, various other crime programs and a myriad of ridiculous attempts at sitcoms, the wasteland that is television leaves most of us wanting more. “Hell on Wheels” is actually a treat for the viewers! With a super-talented cast, great writing and extreme attention to historical accuracy, this series is a real treat. It is not a “watered-down” version of life in the mid-1860’s, nor is it an insult to the intelligence of its viewers. The plot twists and character development are such a delight. The plots of… Read more »
AMC, please do not let Hell On Wheels go the way of Firefly on FOX. I believe the writers have a lot more story to tell.
Very very awesome show. High quality, great effort…all around very enjoyable series. Please have another season. Season 3 would make me very happy 😉
HOW in season 2’s ending showed that they knew it would be cancelled. I hope I’m wrong. It will have to have big cast changes. Whats left to tell. The RR makes it to the ocean. We all know that
This is a well writen well acted series. It’s is raw and gritty, like the old west. (I speak from experience I’m a Texan that lives in NYNY … A stranger in a strange land)
HBO deadwood ended far to soon. It would be a shame for hell on wheels to suffer the same fate.
I encourage AMC to continue on. Keep it just as dark and gritty. Add and kill off characters to keep it real . Continue the moral dialog of the nature of good and evil.
Win or loose. Thank you for 2 great seasons !!!
I am looking forward to season 3. Season 1 and 2 seemed so short. You need to continue
with the story.
This show is awesome!! One of the best!
If its cancelled i’ll never watch any AMC shows again!
Wonderful show, it would be sad if they canceled it
