The ratings for this staple of TV Land have been falling for years. They’re a far cry from the first season’s 3.12 million average. Will they start to recover this year? Could this be the final season for Hot in Cleveland? Cancelled or renewed for season seven? Stay tuned.
Hot in Cleveland continues to follow the lives of three middle-age ladies from Los Angeles — writer Melanie Moretti (Valerie Bertinelli), beautician Joy Scoggs (Jane Leeves), and actress Victoria Chase (Wendie Malick). When their flight to Paris makes an emergency landing in Cleveland, Ohio, they discover a community that’s less shallow and youth-obsessed. They move there and lease a home with a sassy caretaker, Elka Ostrovsky (Betty White).
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
11/17 update: TV Land has announced that season six will be the end.
Final season averages: 0.21 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 790,000 total viewers.

What do you think? Do you still like the Hot in Cleveland TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a seventh season?
This was for the first 2 or 3 seasons my favorite sitcom on TV. I laughed so hard I cried. I recommended the show to friends. Then they went freaky with their content … Just out of bounds freaky things. Now even one of their ads for the finale is just sick. They have Betty White saying tha she hears Joy dies! That is not funny. In no way is that funny. This is supposed to be a sitcom…not a soap opera. Currently my favorite is The Exes. So far, going into Season 5, the writing for this show is… Read more »
Love this show!
I think it’s a bad idea to cancel. HIC helped me laugh after I lost my husband unexpectedly and keeps me smiling till this day. It’s the only show on tv that can do that, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks so. Please try another season and let people know when the seasons start cause Thank God for DVR’s cause the last couple years I would have missed. This show made tv land and I believe you’ll lose a lot of viewers without it, cause honestly they don’t have a better show than Hot In Cleveland.
I love hot in Cleveland, love them all. Please don’t cancel show. I watch it every Wednesday on TV land.
HIC is so funny…whoever is making these decisions based upon initial viewership ratings doesn’t realize that many of us don’t watch the first run of any program. HIC is far superior to most if not all of the comedies on television. The writing and innuendo are delightful. Dave Foley’s character is hilarious and his facial expressions make me laugh without saying a word. Wendy, Jane, Valerie, Betty and the supporting casts far exceed other programs. Please reconsider!
This was just a funny TV show. My favorite episodes were the ones with Susan Lucci. Her personality against Wendy’s was priceless.
Perhaps if they reconcider they could get her on. If Betty White’s health prevents her from continuing, it will be a sad loss, but I think the show could survive.
I’m not understanding how Younger gets renewed while Hot in Cleveland is canceled. The ratings for HIC our better. Can someone explain this?
I know right!!!! It’s not right. Hot In Cleveland is the best show around. I even got my male friends hooked on it, we all get together at our local bar and watch it most of the times plus I record it at home incase I miss something LOL
We watched American Horror Story last season, but still watched Hot in Cleveland online and in reruns. Keep Hot in Cleveland and cancel American Horrror Story, please.
We LOVE watching it, however corny. Of course we’ve been watching American Horror Story the last year, but we still catch HIC online or reruns. If I’d thought anybody was counting our viewing habits, I’d have watched HIC and taped AMS.
I enjoy this show and all four of the actors. I love the development of new characters involved with the ladies personal lives. I wish Tv-Land had the same resilience as Betty White!!!!
Uninspired writing, dull storyline without depth, tired jokes, less than stellar acting; what is there to like? Without good writing however, the potential for even great acting is lost. TV Land heavily promoted this program prior to its beginning. I knew from the first few episodes that the show would be without substance (unlike “Frasier”).
It turned into the same old thing: who will have sex in this episode and who won’t? I like Betty White (of course) and Wendi Malek, but the other two don’t have much style. Poor Jane Leeves, after years on “Frasier” developing her character into not more than her legs, that’s all she’s got now. Someone should tell her that her leg fixation is old news. Did anyone see the cover of the last “Frasier” season’s DVD? Everyone is sitting there, looking into the camera, and Jane is just stretched out on the back of the couch with her legs… Read more »
My husband and I (29) really love this show! There’s never an episode that goes by without us laughing! It was so great to have a show that wasn’t smutty in a pornographic way. Boo to you TV Land
I love Hot in Cleveland. I hope it stays on T.V.
It should continue for another season
I like the show. I find it really funny. I am sorry it is being cancelled.
