Last season, How to Get Away with Murder was ABC’s most-watched scripted series which is particularly impressive for a new series. The show had a fantastic debut but ratings dropped quite a bit over the course of the season. Will they keep falling in season two or will they grow? Cancelled or almost guaranteed to be renewed for a third season? Stay tuned.
A legal-thriller TV series, How to Get Away with Murder revolves around a brilliant and seductive college professor/defense attorney (Viola Davis) who gets entangled with law students from her class. The rest of the cast includes Billy Brown, Alfred Enoch, Jack Falahee, Katie Findlay, Aja Naomi King, Matt McGorry, Karla Souza, Charlie Weber, and Liza Weil.

What do you think? Do you like the How to Get Away with Murder TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a third season?
RENEW THIS SHOW!! This show is amazing in terms of the dynamics between the actors as well as the level of talent from Viola Davis that touches its viewers in such a relatable fashion. Despite the extreme circumstances and scenarios that these characters find themselves in, there is a true resiliency that exists. There is so much mystery shrouding Annalise, yet we get to see her genuine, flawed, messy but brilliant side, mixed with both bold and quiet moments. This makes her so “real” to the audience. People ( the audience) attempts and cares enough to want to get to… Read more »
I liked this show at the beginning but it has just become bizarre and sleazy. I stopped watching some time ago because of it. It had a lot of potential…sadly.
It is the most convoluted plot. I have to stop watching it. I cannot keep up with this show. Shonda Rimes really messed this one up. The actors who are in the show are good, especially Viola Davis, but I stopped watching it, because it’s become totally nonsensical.
I just finished the season finale and I am debating whether or not I want to see the next season. I mean, I love the show. I binge watched the first season on Netflix. But I am super pissed they killed Rebecca. She was my favorite character and the main reason I loved the show so much. I don’t know if I would be able to watch it without her. She was such an important character I. The first season and I don’t like how they just end her story so abrupt. And Wes and Rebecca were my favorite couple… Read more »
I think you should definitely watch the next season. IMO, it’s better than the first. Rebecca was my fav character too, but she was really only relevant to the story in season 1. I thought I would miss her too much, but I forgot all about her in season 2. You should just watch the 1st episode of the new season and see how you feel.
I personally LOVE this show!!! I want it renewed again and again!!! The mystery keeps me intrigued!!! I love the guessing!!!! Thats what keeps me involved in the show and I am White and the white faces remark doesn’t bather me bc it is a quote from Harriet Tubman!!! It was a remark about women with color getting more jobs in the industry!! if you know your History it shouldn’t have bothered you!!!
Renewed!!!its a great show
I think How To Get Away With Murder with Viola Davis should definitely be renewed for a season 3. It’s a very creative, very involving show. Just amazing plot line.
They need to realize people don’t watch live tv anymore. They record download watch online watch it on Hulu. So just because people didn’t sit down and tune in on the actual air doesn’t mean it’s not being watched. It’s not that generation anymore
exactly i have no time to watch it at the actual time it airs!!! i watch it the next day a lot of times the next day on watch ABC APP!!!
So true!! We don’t even own a TV (we live in a Manhattan tiny apartment), and we’d never get cable! Everything is available online, all you need is internet. I watch HTGWM on Netflix, it feels awesome that you can just binge watch it without ads. I think it’s one of the best shows I follow now.
I like How to get Away With Murder, however,
I liked it better without the Lesbian theme it’s
reverted to now. It was more suspenseful
before the main character started having
an affair with her old college friend. The
murder & suspense kept it exciting. I was a
little disappointed that they would give
someone with Viola Davis’ talent and stature
a theme like this for television…..
wasn’t she cheating on her husband last year with MULTIPLE GUYS? or something.. and is she now supposed to lesbian or bi- or what have you?. no wonder the ratings are dropping. As you say, they have left the original story behind and people are tuning out. Same as blacklist, the story went from centering on the Spader character to the FBI agent and folks have been saying no thanks with their remotes. Murder goes from suspense thriller to “peyton palace” and the remotes get a work out.
Agreed. Too many shows can’t stop introducing lesbian / bisexual female characters that are always “sexy”, while giving so few gay male characters, with over half that are unattractive and sexless. It’s the media’s way of satisfying the quota, while playing the safer option, and shoving girl-on-girl “sexiness” down our throats, especially straight men’s, thinking we are all into that. I’m so sick of unrealistic looking lesbians and edgy bisexuals.
Season 2 has become too convoluted. Time for me to exit. I want to escape into a show, not make out a road map of who’s who and who did what.
My husband and I watched season one and really loved the show. We were looking forward to season 2 and stopped recording after the 3rd episode . The direction this show is no longer of interest to either of us. . I don’t understand why these shows have to be so vulgar. You have people like Viola Davis making inappropriate comments about whites and she demeans herself in this role. Unfortunate, because I liked Viola Davis, a lot. I will not be surprised if the ratings continue to drop as they alienate more and more viewers.
if you’re talking about her emmy speech, watch it again because you didn’t hear it correctly.
yes, she did
HELLo MURDER is VULGAR!!!
never got to watch it when it first came on cause something else was on, but now im just not interested so i have no idea what this show is about.
This is a great show and you don’t know what will happen next!
It stinks–improbable and embarrassing.
I love this show!!!!!!!! Great story line and acting! I hope they keep up the great work. Renew for season 3, 4 5+ now!!!!!
I love the show, the same with Ms Davis but her white faces remarks at the Emmys was inappropriate to the white faces audience. I didn’t watch the show premiere, maybe when it shows up in Netflix. Sorry if I offended somebody.
I tried to get thru the opener but kept dozing off… Ugh… I watched it last year & wanted to see how they finally resolved the white husband’s murder… No such luck… just another murder, now lesbians on top of the story w/the 2 gay guys… That’s it for me, Now I don’t care how he got murdered. Plus I think her remarks at the Emmy’s was inexcusable. If the situation was reversed, no one would have allowed a white person, winner OR loser to make black face comments!
Her “white faces remark” at the Emmys was a Harriet Tubman quote. And it was in line with talking about opportunities for women of color in the industry. And THAT was in line with the fact that she, after 67 years of the Emmys, was the FIRST black woman to win Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. On top of that, she was only the FIFTH black woman in those 67 years to win an Emmy for a dramatic role in a TV series. And on top of THAT, she was only the SEVENTH black woman in those 67… Read more »
i have stopped watching how to get away with murder.
it was pretty good at the first but not any more.
you messed up the writing, to much back and forth.
as for the gay and lesbian stuff, so what? would it have been just as “vulgar” with a straight couple?
I don’t have a problem with the speak , However I do have a problem with the lesbian and gay scenes, And no… a lot of us don’t mind the straight couples if they don’t show too much, I for one don’t want to look at that gay stuff at all, Just saying!
what’s the difference? it’s okay for the straight couples “not to show too much”, but heaven forbid two women or two men kiss?
why do you have a problem with one but not the other?
‘gay stuff’ is a part of our society. What a bigot! Just saying!
yeah, cause we see gay guys having sex on the steps of city hall everyday. oh, and gays etc make 3 percent of the population, not the 20+ percent that some of you think. So gays are WAY more prevalent on TV now than in society as a whole. And if they started thumping the bible on murder, I bet you would start screaming just as loud about “how we don’t need all that christian stuff”
How many are out of the “closet”??? I don’t care about the “gay stuff” because you love who you love and there are a lot of LGBT than you think!!! I may not be gay but i do support the cause of the LGBT community!!! Everyone should be excepted for who they are not what they do!!!
Are you saying that gays can’t believe in God???
No, it would not have been nearly as vulgar with a straight couple.
Well, that’s an incredibly homophobic comment without any question or hesitation… unless you’re just being sarcastic (then it’d actually be quite funny to be honest).
