Christopher Chance and company have been struggling in the ratings this season and FOX isn’t exactly helping them out. On Wednesday, the pair of scheduled Human Target episodes were pre-empted by President Obama’s speech from Tucson. Those episodes have been rescheduled for tonight, an evening when viewership is much lower and many fans of the show will probably miss them.
Now, FOX has decided to expand the Wednesday, January 26th edition of American Idol to two hours. As a result, the previously scheduled episode of Human Target will be bumped to Monday, January 31st. It’ll precede the final Lie to Me of the season (and possibly the series). The network hasn’t announced it yet but, if the two-hour Idol on the 26th is a success, FOX could certainly decide to expand the next couple episodes which would displace the last two episodes of Human Target’s season. While the series was once going to get a ratings boost from an Idol lead-in, it’s now getting shuffled around instead.
It would seem that FOX has all but given up on the series. At this point, it’s hard to blame them. The ratings certainly don’t warrant a third round of episodes. Season one averaged a 2.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.6 million viewers and it was almost cancelled with those numbers. Thus far, season two has averaged just a pitiful 1.6 rating and 6.04 million total viewers. Human Target is currently the lowest-rated scripted show on the network.
It seems that Human Target is already destined to be cancelled and these latest schedule changes will be the final blow.
What do you think? Will Human Target be renewed for season three or cancelled? What would you suggest doing to increase the ratings?

Get rid of that foreign b ,Pucci, and the series will survive.
I really like the Human Target show. I and my kids love watching this show. I don’t want this show to end. I strongly feel that this is one of good shows. Please continue.
I realy like this show and was upset Obama took it off last Tuesday. I hope Fox keeps it going.
Keep the show but get rid of the women esp the girl agent with Ms Pucci having a ltd on-screen role if she has to be there at all…it was a much better show before the women were added…….
We LOVE this show! It is one of the very, very few shows that you can’t figure out the ending in the first 10 minutes. We love how there are plot twists and turns, it is well written, the characters and the actors who portray them have depth and balance out each other so well. Story lines develop in each show, and don’t always get resolved…that is what keeps us turning in for more. Ilsa is the best yin to the others’ yang, and yet they are all so believeable, and they have an underlying trust and respect for each… Read more »
Human Target is one of my favorite shows. If the ratings are not good, it is the fault of FOX for constantly moving this show around and around to different time slots. This is an amazing, action packed and very entertaining show. Please keep this show.
Does not seem like Fox really wants to give it a fair chance? First moved back it’s season opener and then has moved it around. Also opening something near the start of the holiday season is not always the wisest. Then keeps moving the show around and wonders why ratings are down. It is inventive and fun show and deserves a chance. I cannot believe it will be 13 episodes already. All I can say at least we will be able to get season 2 on dvd. I just wish it would give the show a chance. Everyone I know… Read more »
I LOVE HUMAN TARGET!!! PLEASE DONT CANCEL!!! ITS A GREAT SHOW!!!
How can they base anything on ratings? I love the show; it’s well written, great acting, and a very good show. I love it, and I can’t even tell you what night it’s on during the week. It used to be Mondays, but that was ages ago. Fox has treated this show like a red-headed step child. No wonder the ratings are poor. Shame on Fox.
I love Human Target. It’s one of the few non pbs shows or sporting events I watch. Why would I watch any other new show that Fox puts out, knowing that they won’t commit to them? They’re constantantly moving the program around. I have to consistently search the TV listings to find out if they decided to air it on a Friday or a Monday or a Wednesday. Despite having as many time slot changes as Brett Favre retirement press conferences, doesn’t the fact that it has as many loyal viewers as it does tell you something about it’s potential?… Read more »
GREAT SHOW and a shame the network has moved it around so much one never knows when it is going to be on. The characters mesh well and the fast moving show holds your interest. ADVERTISE the showing date and stick with it….PLEASE!
American Idol blows since Simon left. Two and a Half Men is losing it’s touch, House is turning worse and worse every episode.
Human Target is, by far, the best show on FOX right now; let me rephrase this. It’s the best show right now, period.
I think it’s the best show Fox has on the air, too bad they didn’t handle it right. Poor advertising, didn’t know about it until the end of last season. The scheduling or lack of this year has been a disgrace. It has been bumped too much and moved to different days, how can it be judged on it’s own merits; when there is such a lack of consistancy of when it;s available to be seen. Half the time I have to watch it on the computer. Give it a break!!!
KEEP HUMAN TARGET!!!!!!! This is a show that my whole family LOVES!!!!!! If we can’t watch it live, we DVR it!!!! My family doesn’t watch American Idol AT ALL!!! We watched it the first year when Kelly Clarson was on, but haven’t since. PLEASE! PLEASE!! PLEASE!!! DO NOT CANCEL!!!!!!!!
3.) BONES. I THINK FOX SHOULD KEEP “HUMAN TARGET” GIVE IT ANOTHER CHANCE. AIR IT ON A NIGHT THAT THERE IS NO OTHER SHOW. LIKE TUESDAY.
