They’ve really pulled out all the stops for the season finale of FOX’s Human Target. Of course, they have to since there’s no guarantee that the series will be back next season. But, even if you haven’t watched the series before, hearing that the Six Million Dollar Man himself, Lee Majors, will be a guest star, should have action fans tuning in to take a look.
Human Target premiered in January and stars Mark Valley as Christopher Chance. He’s a bodyguard of sorts, but instead of just throwing his body in front of his clients, he completely integrates himself into their lives, to become the target of whoever wants his clients dead. Winston and Guerrero (Chi McBride and Jackie Earle Haley) are his business associate and hired gun.
A few weeks ago on Human Target we were given a glimpse into Chance’s mysterious past and we discovered how he started working with Winston and Guerrero. Lennie James played his former partner, Baptiste, who is considered “the best assassin out there.” Valley admits, “I think he kicked my ass to be honest with you… I feel like the audience is rooting for Chance to kick his ass next time.”

Next time? Yep, Baptiste is back, and Chance is going to get some help from Lee Majors, who plays his former mentor. The casting turned out to be a dream come true for Valley. He’s a big fan of Majors and said of working with the former star of The Six Million Dollar Man, “The little boy in me was tearing around the house, screaming at the top of his lungs… Inside I was like [mouth opened wide], Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God!” Majors could see that Valley was moved and got a chuckle out of it.
Valley wasn’t the only one with admiration for Majors. The more eloquent McBride, who worked with him previously on The Brothers Solomon, admires the veteran actor for his long history in the business, and said, “You get to hear him talk about television, and he’s been around for a long time, you know, from Big Valley to Six Million Dollar Man, and you’ve got so much stuff in between.”
McBride also admires Majors for having been married to Farrah Fawcett, along with his work acumen. “The guy was actually standing in for himself between setups and stuff like that… I wish more younger people especially would get an opportunity to work with people like that.”
As devoted fans know, Human Target has not been renewed for next season and it appears the network is still on the fence. The ratings have been okay for this season; not bad and not great. Considering the fact that FOX has cancelled 24, it seems likely that the network will take a chance (no pun intended) and bring it back next season. We’ll know for sure by mid-May.

I am with all of you on bringing back HUMAN TARGET. I am also with those of you who dislike “Reality” Shows. They bore me to tears. I just want to blow my brains out when I hear people talking about them. I watched the first SURVIVOR because Rudy Bosch was on the show. I was a SEAL and so was he. I worked with him and went to a couple of reunions with him. I have never watched it since. As for the rest of those shows I think they suck. I seriously doubt that they are as “REAL”… Read more »
Please bring this show back….it was so much fun to watch and you can really care about the characters. I would also like to see all of the shows re-ran this summer.
This was a slow starter that has absolutley become a sure -fire entertainer. The characters are people that you would love to know & be around. They have become fulll dimensional personalities. The story line is fun, good- guy- wins fun. The sad back ground… a little hackneyed, but makes it a great show in the exagerated old time detective story style. Don’t lose this one. You will lose a huge following that have the money & means to make it worthwhile in the long run.
YES – PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE BRING THIS GREAT SHOW BACK! The entire cast has great chemistry and charisma! The story lines and writing have been Stellar! LOVE the banter between Winston and Guerreo! You even got to love the Bad Guys – Lennie is great as Baptiste! It would be really fun to bring back Lee Majors, but it would need to be in flashbacks. When will this Season be out on DVD? THEY SAY… ” MONEY TALKS ?” THE NETWORKS WILL LOSE THE CHANCE OF A LONG RUNNING SUCCESSFUL SERIES, IF THEY DON’T BRING THIS SHOW BACK .

Human Target one of the premiere quality shows in your lineup
to not bring it back would be a great disappointment because most of
your lineup is adolescent fodder.
Yes! Bring this show back! Although there are tons of shoot-em-up crime solving shows, this one is very different and much more entertaining. I wanna see this show back, especially because I wanna know how the season finale is supposed to end!!!

It was an outstanding series. Mark Valley plays an interesting character and even looks like a younger Lee Majors. I had watched him in the epsiodes of the Fringe and then the Human Target. It would be great to see Lee Majors in afew more episodes. Also maybe even a resurfacing of his suposedly dead girl friend and of course batiset.
please bring this program back….. it has excitement, storyline, action, hunks and best of all , does not need to have vulgarity, profanity or nudity to be a hit… this show is quite refreshing……i so look forward to the second season..a show with character , a refreshing change…………..
Absolutely it should return. Good scripting and excellent cast.
Bring it back! Very entertaining and the cast seems to
have a chemistry right off. Good writing as well. Girls,
cars and explosions! James Bondish stuff. I look forward’
to it every week. I just wish we had television seasons
like Lee Majors used to work in. These two month seasons
are for the birds – noone knows whats on anymore!
