Tim Allen’s second long-running ABC sitcom has come to a close. His Last Man Standing TV show has been cancelled so there won’t be a seventh season on ABC. The ABC family sitcom follows straight-talker Mike Baxter (Tim Allen), a man surrounded by women.
Last Man Standing also stars Nancy Travis, Molly Ephraim, Kaitlyn Dever, Amanda Fuller, Jordan Masterson, Flynn Morrison, Jonathan Adams, Christoph Sanders, and Hector Elizondo.
Last Man Standing: A Look at the Ratings
The sixth season of Last Man Standing averaged a 1.15 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.41 million viewers. Compared to the fifth season, that’s down by 5% in both measures.
Although when sorted by ratings demo numbers Last Man Standing ranks 12th among the 25 scripted ABC TV shows we’re tracking, in terms of average total audience size it’s a top three show. That’s pretty good for Friday nights, when the audience is smaller.
In addition to performing solidly for ABC, Last Man Standing does well in syndication.
Unfortunately, ABC does not share in those syndication profits since the series is produced by 20th Century Fox Television. In the past, the network had negotiated with the studio to secure lower licensing fees. This time around, there was no last-minute bargaining.
There’s been no news of trying to shop the series elsewhere but, if the studio and creatives are willing to make the jump, Last Man Standing seems like a natural candidate to move to a streaming or cable outlet.

Cannot believe they cancelled this sitcom! It is one of the funniest down to earth that we can all watch and LAUGH!!!!! EVEN WITH THEIR POLITICAL IDEAS THEY KEEP IT FAIR!! this is,a funny show that relates to everyday people!!

Upset that ABC thinks that Last Man Standing should be canceled. It is a family show and we are surely lacking shows we can sit down with our children and not be embarrassed about. Shame on Hollywood!

I can’t believe they would cancel a show because he like Trump. Those vicious people from the view are still carrying on over the win. What’s wrong with people.? From a great show that gave us fun , to keep these awful people on the view. We need the presidents help to get Tim back on!

I am really upset that ABC cancelled Last Man Standing’s 7th season. This is the one show I looked forward to on Friday nights. It was our great family show that we all loved and looked forward to seeing to end our week. We hope this is not a political statement by ABC. If so, I will be leaving this network never to watch another of your shows including Good Morning America!

Iam totally shocked about this being cancelled what a great show and comedy is ABC crazy?? Bad move on ABC part…. I hope Tim Allen takes this show to a different net work will be switching for sure! Mean while ABC leave’s other crappy shows on the air that have no meaning or reality to life shame on you ABC..

So much whining all over this site from Conservatives about this show. I wish they would keep it to this thread. I never watched the show, but I’m glad it’s ending just because of all the B—-ing and moaning on the other threads.
