Will there be another season of The Last Ship. According to Deadline, season five will likely be the last for the TNT TV show.
The naval drama, which is currently in its fourth season, centers on the crew of the USS Nathan James, which must try to find a cure for a deadly virus that has wiped out most of the world’s population. The cast includes Eric Dane, Bridget Regan, Adam Baldwin, Charles Parnell, Travis Van Winkle, Marissa Neitling, Christina Elmore, Jocko Sims, Bren Foster, and Kevin Michael Martin.
Earlier, cast member Travis Van Winkle wrote on his Instagram (in a now deleted post) that season five was a “series wrap.” Now, Deadline reports star Eric Dane is available and has been approached for new roles. TNT has released a statement regarding the status of The Last Ship, saying it’s too early to tell if there will be a sixth season or not:
We shot two seasons simultaneously, the fourth is currently on the air and the fifth will return next summer. We greenlit the fifth with the idea that it could be the final season, however it’s far too early to make that determination.”

Anything with Bridget Regan in it is a must watch.
The Last Ship and it’s whole cast make a great “pull together for the common good” series ! It’s almost a “true American patriots” fantasy drama. I love watching this series. It would be a shame to see it cancelled.
I love the show and the world is always in trouble so there are a lot of things that could happen. PLEASE KEEP IT GOING Season 6 please
I never missed the show and will miss the entire cast if tnt is dumb enough to kill off its best drama ! I know shows and this is truly the best ever made and I hope the best of TNT knows it still has us all hooked , we always get caught up on a great show and then they take it away. PLEASE TNT DO NOT DROP THIS AMAZING WELL WRITTEN AND THOUGHT OUT DRAMA!
I think Stopping at Season 5 is a good idea. While this is one of my favorite shows….and i haven’t missed an episode, i think it will be time for them to wrap up and go on with their lives. It would be good to see the last episode be all of them going home, no matter what they are going home to…
I really do enjoy The Last Ship. The first two seasons were the best of course and despite the title I’d like to know where the rest of the fleet is. Carriers, crusiers, subs, they couldn’t have all been wiped out by the red virus, especially our subs which stay submerged for months at a time. The ships would still be around even if most of their crews died. I miss the character of Dr Rachel Scott but Bridget Regan is a powerful female lead. Honestly The Last Ship is one of few shows I like. I have not seen past season 3 as Cravetv does not have more than that. I would say I am a fan of this series and would continue to watch
I stopped watching The Last Ship when Dr. Rachel Scott was killed off.
The show is running out of steam now. Just going over the same things.

Love this show, hope it continues on!!!
I like the show… But the premise can only support a given period. There is only so many ways an entire planet can be in jeopardy – and only so many times that one crew can be the only hope the world has. Better to end on a high note than get dragged down into the realm of “They should have quit while they were on top.”
Well if that’s the case I am not watching anymore of episodes for the season e thanks for the memories.

here my view. why end the series? it can go on for a few more years and its stil be watchable. So yesu see your point.
