What do you think? Do you like watching The Last Ship TV series on TNT? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
About 4-5 episodes in and I’m done. It’s boring and unwatchable now. They senselessly kill off the most interesting character and treat her death as if it’s nothing. A stamp? Seriously? Then to add insult to injury they replace the female lead with a stone-faced stiff who looks utterly out of place for the part she’s playing, contributes nothing of substance and has no chemistry with Chandler. Other good characters like Val, Tex, the computer hacker girl, etc. are killed off or otherwise disappear as well. The entire focus and feel of the show has changed also, now the crew… Read more »
I love this show. I think it should be renewed. A virus such as this could be come a reality.
It only took 7 episodes into season 3 before they begin to address the circumstances of Dr. Scott’s death. Words cannot describe how much of a let down this is.
Well that was sad and still no closure for Dr. Scott. Something really bad must have happened behind the scenes for this character to have the worst send off in the three seasons of the last ship.
I stopped watching after I learned Dr. Scott was dead. It was already losing some steam by season 2 with the immunes (which I found to be not as good an antagonist as the Soviets) and their killing of the Israeli female soldier (who was awesome!). But the nail in the coffin for me was the death of Scott. Not only was a I a big Scott/Chandler shipper, I just genuinely liked her character and her moral ambiguity contrasted against Chandler’s strict sense of conduct.
I’m the opposite. I was glad they got rid of Scott because of the way she murdered that Russian guy and I found the Israeli female soldier annoying the wat she kept leading on Carlton
This was my favorite program and I am sad to say they have made some very poor choices. Let’s start withDr. Scott. I keep reading Rhona Mitra left on her own accord, but no sources to validate. She just posted on herTwitter: “no one wants to go down on a sinking ship, cue the little Dutch boy”. Hmm, one could take from that she is sworn to secrecy or saw season 3 script and bailed. The show has lost its human connection without Scott and Tex and killing off so many others ripped us out of our familiarity zone.Other Major… Read more »
Ok so were like five episodes in and I still don’t understand the point of Bridget Regan’s character Sasha? Here character is useless, she hasn’t really done anything of worth since the first episode.
I just can’t bring myself to watch it this season after they killed off Dr. Scott. Such a bad decision – no wonder the ratings are down.
I still love the show and i’m totally hooked. I finished the 2 seasons in 2 days. Although I was shocked of what happened to Dr. Scott. I am still grieving for her death. And where the hell is Tex?? I like his sense of humour.
I have been watching the show from day one and the first two seasons were awesome then on season 3 they just shot themselves in the foot by killing of what was probably the number 2 character on the show. Plus I notice they kill off strong female characters, LIeutenant Ravit last season, Val and Dr.Scott and Tex who just vanished. You can see the amount of people unhappy with the show now. They changed the recipe of what made the show popular it’s like Grandma’s recipe you don’t change Grandma’s recipe because it won’t taste the same ever again.
You’d think the Nathan James would go out in a blaze of glory in some epic battle. But by the looks of it its the show runners epic stupidity that will do the show in.
What did they think would happen for killing off Dr. Scott? The show was already struggling and they go and kill off a main character that was integral to the show.
I gave it 4 episodes, but I don’t think episode 5 will make a difference for me. There’s nothing special about the last ship anymore if its not the last ship. I know some people find that the show doesn’t need Dr. Scott anymore, but the truth is her character humanized the crew of the Nathan James, between herself, the crew and Tex’s humour the show was very compelling. Since the beginning of the season its seems like the show doesn’t have that same magic that kept me wanting more. Between killing off Rachel, Tex leaving, Val and Mason dying,… Read more »
I couldn’t have said it better they are killing off too many likable characters like the female Israeli soldier last season also.
They said she was dead in the first episode. No bother to know if they found her that way or tried to save. So much to protect her and then no guard in her hall? Tex missing is simply inexcusable… We assume he is with his daughter? They force all these cabinet cast members down our throats. I’m not pleased
either
I just don’t understand the **** their pulling with this seasons. I’d be fine with them just giving us an update about where bertrice and Tex are. Its just a couple of freakin lines. But to have no closure with respect to Rachel’s death is inexcusable, she is too great a character deserving of a proper send off. I read that her death was the next logical step and her death would raise the stakes…really? the fact of the matter is they rushed the formation of the new US storyline. You mean to tell me soviets, and the immunes were… Read more »
Without Dr Scott the ship is sinking fast. time to jump ship farewell Nathan James after making us love the series for 2 seasons., Tptb gave totally screwed up. I will never watch again unless Rachel is back.
Sad to see Dr. Rachel Scott getting killed off after what went wrong in last season’s finale. Don’t know how the rest of the season is going to hold up.
Wow, two episodes of this season and I am out. Yikes, it became really abd
Totally disappointed with the first two episodes of this series. I don’t understand why they keep killing off rolls, I understand a development but this is just getting too much. I just hope they settle down do what makes this show great. Not this fancy totally messed up all well you’re in trouble blah blah blah again.
This is what i don’t understand, why did Dr. Scott really need to die if we were past the whole vaccine storyline? She could have easily faded away a bit and on occasion we could have little snippets of her taking to her or chandler. Her death if for purely dramatic effect will prove to only hurt the show in the long run. The same for Val, her character was growing on me and her potential thing with Wolf made her more of an appealing character. If anything her skill, I would think at least would be a huge benefit… Read more »
Totally agree!
Here’s my view that might be happening they might be protecting her and pretending that she has died, just to bring her back and protect her from people killing her again or attempting to. Yes for the nightclub scene which was Sean June 12 episode one into indent TNT network leaving it isn’t been viewed yet in the city of premiering it on the 19th June. What is that all about I mean I saw that you 12 episode one and two, another claiming that it was never show? I don’t understand what this process of thinking is, the killing… Read more »
totally agree. I’m hoping Dr. Scott is in hiding too, but if not and more fan loved characters die the show will loose viewers fast
Wait to you see the next episode three, I just saw it’s not too bad but then again I seem like you’re losing their focus but I hope Siri sure needs it that new lady who is part of the Hilo is really lame.
Hey bud – I think that it’s the good actors/resses that are choosing the leave this show, rather than being delierately written out – could be wrong though but that’s my gut feeling – I couldnt even finish this season’s double bill – my breaking point was the captain shielding his face with his forearm to protect himself from possibly lethal radiation…cos, like, that ‘ll work…in a pinch…when you’ve run out of a few feet of lead 🙂
