Variety reports TNT has cancelled three of their series: Legends, Public Morals, and Agent X.
The announcement comes on the same day the network granted season renewals for The Librarians, Major Crimes, and Murder in the First.
Starring Sean Bean, Legends’ second season premiered in November, after a complete series revamp. Ratings were poor for season one, with an average viewership of only 1.53 million. But even with a new showrunner and serialized approach to the spy drama, the second season has not fared much better in the ratings.
TNT’s new historical cop drama Public Morals debuted in August. However, the freshman series starring Ed Burns as a member of NYPD’s Public Morals Division in the 1960s, performed even worse in the ratings than season two of Legends. Season one only garnered an average 18-49 demo rating of .15 and an average of 880,000 total viewers.
TNT’s other freshman series, Agent X, premiered in November. The series, which stars Sharon Stone as a new Vice President in charge of a secret operative, has fared better than the first season of Public Morals in the ratings, but not by much. With only three episodes left, the series has averaged a total of 1.066 million viewers.
Legends ends it second season on December 28th, while Agent X ends is first and only season on December 27th.
What do you think? Did you watch either Legends, Public Morals, or Agent X? Are you disappointed they were cancelled?
I loved agent X he would. Be an awesome BOND. I can’t believe they. Cancelled this. They could have tried a different time spot I also enjoyed public morals. . You keep stupid shows that require no thought.
Loved Agent x. Great for binge watching. Sorry to see it gone. Darn!
It’s amazing you should even think of canceling Agent X but actually do it. You’re canceling shows that keep adults watching TNT. I moved over from watching Madam Secretary (then watched that on demand) to Agent X. Great characters and good story line. Can we have at least one more season so other people can have a chance to be hooked.
One comment I would make is a little more lighting should be used during some of the fighting scenes.
Seriously? Sean Bean is one of the smartest actors in television and it’s so called “convoluted” plot is only difficult for school children. I loved this show and the intelligent writing. Why is it that you continue to cancel smart shows? So disappointing.
Didn’t care for public morals or legends, but loved Agent X. Wish they hadn’t canceled
They are idiots to cancel legends and Agent X. Both shows were high quality. Legends could use a little cleaning up of some convoluted plot lines, the agent apps is one of the only shows on television that showed realistic action sequences. I think both shows would eventually find an audience if given the chance. I don’t think networks give shows enough time to really find their footing. Like I said, the networks are idiots if they cancel either of these shows.
Ditto
I really enjoyed Agent X and am tired of the good shows getting cancelled. The premier and cast were both great.
Loved Agent X, what a waste to cancel it. It improved with each episode.
Loved Agent X. It Improved with Each Episode, what a waste to cancel it.
Loved agent x looking forwardt
Do not cancel agent x it is well written and good for our times about what is going on behind the scenes. Keep Agent X
Sorry to see agent x go. It was fun and exciting. Should have canceled librarians and kept this.
TOTALLY AGREE, KEEP AGENT X. You should CANCEL LIBRARIANS, RUBBISH, adults want shows that are/could be real not magic, there is no Santa.
Cancelled Legends!!!! Not happy, invest my time and gone! I will now cancel TNT!!!!
Agent x…..only one that should not be cancelled!!!!!!
I have enjoyed both Legends and Agent X. Disappointed with their cancellation and the renewal of the Librarians. After initially enjoying the Librarians, found the series has become just far too silly to watch.
