The Live PD franchise is gone for good. According to NextTV, Sony Pictures Television has cancelled the A&E TV show’s syndicated spin-off series Live PD Police Patrol.
The weekly series focused on the daily work of police forces throughout the United States. “Every episode highlights the daily life-and-death situations faced by Sheriff’s Departments, Highway Patrols and local Police Departments in a diverse range of jurisdictions from Connecticut to Arizona, ” via the show’s website.
Sony Pictures Television cancelled Live PD Police Patrol after A&E ended Live PD in the wake of international protests against police brutality. Live PD Police Patrol is being pulled off the air this week.
What do you think? Do you watch Live PD Police Patrol? Do you think Sony made the right call?
Should not have cancelled. We should have the choice to watch what we want. If you are offended by the show then don’t watch it.
It is infuriating that the A&E cancelled Live PD. I took A&E off my preferred channels list. It doesn’t even show up on my channel listings. While Live Rescue is a similar format, it just didn’t grab my attention. I don’t hate it, but I’ll forgo watching it since you removed LivePD. Live PD was the only programing I actually watched on A&E and I was a weekly viewer. I suspect there are millions of other people who agree with me.
I was very sorry to hear that! This was my favorite show. Hope they will reverse the decision and bring it back!
In my judgment this is a bad call. I do not understand the logic. I am a Democrat, progressive, ultra liberal, supporter of BLM. I am also 83 and white. I watched Live PD every Friday and Saturday night. I think it presented a fair and representative view of day to day police work across the country. I just don’t understand the rationale for dropping it. Maybe because no rationale was ever given.
“Did they make the right call”?! Dumbest question I have heard in a while. A&E can go bleep themselves. They have lost a viewer for life. Anything with “Sony” will never be given a look.
I learned a lot from the show. I was amazed at the control the police showed when they were faced with dangerous and nasty situations. I saw people at their best and worst. I believe the show was good for people as well as police to watch. It teaches all how to handle bad situations. It made me realize what a great gift police give us every day.
Sad to loose such great show.

Instead of canceling the show, the fan base and popularly could have been used to advocate for policy and legislative change for the officers who need to be disciplined. Not all officers are bad, and I for one applaud them for all they do! Shame on you A & E and Sony!!
This makes me so angry and I will never watch another program on A&E and goodbye anything Sony! Such cowards bending to radicals!
I think it is the wrong decision! It showed what our brave men and women went through on a given evening. No script, nothing staged and educational to the viewer.
Grow a pair a&e this is out and out censorship. People if you don’t like it don’t watch it. My son is a sheriff deputy and this show tells what he deals with every day. I’m proud of all of them and everyone should be too
Live PD was our favorite show. Bring it back! It was absolutely ridiculous to cancel this show. Don’t follow like sheep because of one bad cop. There are more good Police Officers, Sheriff’s and Highway Patrol than bad.
Good bye a&e
A&e i will never watch anything on your statuon untul you put live pd back on and pd patrol
I think this is the worse decision that A&E and Sony has ever made. Live PD shows police officers doing their job. If the criminals didnt resist or run then there wouldn’t be fighting or shooting tasers and such. This show arrests all people not just minorities. This is actual police work and real life . Put it back on. Police are needed . I was a police officer now retired and we always considered ourselves the lower intestinal part of the community till they needed us. Then we were great.
The best thing A&E could have done to support the police nationwide would have been to keep it on air. They were very successful and let the public know by watching that these great people and people like them were out there doing their best everyday. Always respectful and decent. A&E failed the nation and the police nationwide by caving to a select group for the wrong reasons. Now we know where they stand; behind those who spit, call names, threaten, injure and kill police in the name of justice. They are wrong and A&E is wrong. Your decision lost… Read more »
