Deadline reports Addison Timlin and Michelle Krusiec have joined the cast of the MacGyver TV series pilot at CBS. They join Lucas Till (Angus MacGyver), George Eads (Lincoln Croix), and Joshua Boone (Gunner). Timlin played Rachel Lewis on the Zero Hour TV series, which was cancelled in 2013 by ABC after only three episodes aired. Eventually, the network burnt off the remaining ten.
On MacGyver, Deadline says, “Timlin will play Mickey, an app developer who’s aggressively progressive in her political views, with a soft spot for MacGyver. Krusiec plays Agent Croix, Lincoln’s (Eads) sister who works for the Department of Homeland Security.”
From writer Paul Downs Colaizzo and Brett Mahoney, the new MacGyver TV show pilot features a 25-year-old Angus MacGyver, an Army veteran and bomb technician who was captured by the enemy. The series is a prequel to the 1985 series of the same name, which starred Richard Dean Anderson, in the title role.
Lee David Zlotoff created the 1985 MacGyver TV series, which was executive produced by Henry Winkler and John Rich. It was followed up by two TV movies MacGyver: Lost Treasure of Atlantis, and MacGyver: Trail to Doomsday. Winkler is involved in the pilot reboot.
