Will a new network and night be a paradise for Thomas, Higgins, and the Magnum PI TV show? As we all know, Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Magnum PI is cancelled or renewed for season six (an early report indicated NBC had picked up the series for fifth and sixth seasons of 10 episodes each but we now know that it was really for a fifth season of 20 episodes instead). Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustrated when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we invite you to rate all of the fifth season episodes of Magnum PI here. *Status Update Below.
An NBC action-adventure drama series, the Magnum PI TV show stars Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill, Amy Hill, and Tim Kang. This reboot of the 1980s TV show follows Thomas Magnum (Hernandez), a decorated former Navy SEAL who repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator. He lives in a guest cottage on Robin’s Nest, the luxurious estate where he works as a security consultant to supplement his P.I. business. The “majordomo” of the property is Juliet Higgins (Weeks), a beautiful and commanding disavowed MI:6 agent who keeps Magnum in line. When Magnum needs back-up on a job, he turns to his trusted buddies and fellow POW survivors, chopper pilot Theodore “TC” Calvin (Hill) and Orville “Rick” Wright (Knighton), a former Marine door-gunner who now runs a nightclub. Magnum frequently has run-ins with police detective Gordon Katsumoto (Kang) and the two are more alike than either cares to admit. The unofficial “House Mom” and cultural curator of Robin’s Nest, Teuila “Kumu” Tuileta (Hill) is also one of Magnum’s biggest fans.

Please keep Magnum PI on the air. So much drudgery and reality crud. This show gives us great characters, magnificent scenery, perfect blend of intrigue, comedy spots, and drama that blend the actors into exceptional plot lines. Keep it on TV please….

I really hope the executives at NBC know what a gem of a show they have with Magnum PI. Beyond the Ohana feeling of the cast and characters, this show has a mega fan base that is equally vested in this Ohana sticking together for many seasons to come. I understand that they need to decide within the next month or so as to whether to keep the amazing actors together to film season 6. My husband and myself love the series, so glad NBC picked it up. We hope it is renewed. We record the show if we have conflicts.
Much improved over the Lenkov stuff, team beginning to have synergy, Rick, TC, Katsumoto, Kumo hold it together, still not sure about making Magnum and Higgins a couple is the route. That said, storylines all better, week to week continuity and hopefully a better night then Sunday.

The best two episodes produced by amazing ast Charlie FOXTROT and Out of Sight Out of Mind. These kept you on the edge of ones seat. Third Birthright unexpected but eye opening as to how hard it is to try and forgive being abandoned as a youth. When you look at season 5 A everything was perfect the drama and insight. Would have liked a few more romantic scenes between Thomas and Higgins. We as fans want that special date that evolves into a great romantic end. Magnumpi is simply the best show. It is always ultimately positive whilst still dealing with serious issues. The value of ohana and what this stands for cannot be underestimated in today’s society. Oh and its set in stunning beautiful hawaii.
Absolutely Magnum PI needs to be renewed. It’s the one show that I look forward to each week. The chemistry within all the characters are phenomenal. The cast is exceptional and the characters are so well developed and I love watching the bonds between them. It’s a beautiful show to watch and it just makes me happy. I need to see honestly about 3-5 more seasons before I am ok to part with. The story needs to continue. Please renew for at least 3 more seasons.
Great show. My wife and I look forward to the weekly showing. It’s entertaining and diverse. NBC was smart to purchase this show from CBS.
