WGN America is still very new to producing their original scripted series so it’s hard to know what they consider a ratings success. Salem was renewed for a second season. Will the new Manhattan series be renewed as well or will it be cancelled? We’ll have to wait and see.
Set in 1943, Manhattan follows the residents of a secret town of Los Alamos, New Mexico. Hidden away by the federal government, scientists live there with their families while they work to build the world’s first atomic bomb. The cast includes John Benjamin Hickey, Olivia Williams, Alexia Fast, Ashley Zukerman, Rachel Brosnahan, Daniel Stern, Katja Herbers, Christopher Denham, Harry Lloyd, Michael Chernus, Eddie Shin, Daniel London, and Mark Moses.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
10/14 update: Manhattan has been renewed for a second season on WGN America.
Final season averages: 0.08 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 420,000 total viewers.

What do you think? Do you like Manhattan TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
J.B.Hickey
Love the show! I’m a boomer and that’s who you should be aiming for! J.B.Hicket is excellent as Frank Winter.
Love the show. One of the best Dramas this year. Please do not cancel.
Good show, keep the science content. Minialize the soap. Keep it accurate to the real story. The truth is good enough.
Keep Manhattan rolling. It’s fantastic and represents the single most important discovery and development of mankind. It must continue.
Great work, edgy is good but keep the CONTENT accurate and thorough.
I love your show “Manhattan.” However, on your episode “Acceptable Limits” !t shows a man using the telephone from a motel; excuse me, the telephone was white and this is supposed to be in the 40’s. Maybe rich people had colored telephones, but certainly not the regular folks. Don’t you have someone checking those details. You need to have someone who lived at that time for authenticity. I actually laughed!!!!!!
forget the ratings and forget your demographics..the brain dead masses watch reality cr*p…this show has an IQ !.. so far watched most episodes more than once. Will buy the dvd set as soon as you sell it! Katja is a super hot Nerd! Please do not turn it into a soap opera….keep it edgy!
I LOVE this show. I typically do not like “period” shows and wasn’t sure how I would feel about this one. I literally cannot take my eyes off it – it is so good!!! My grandmother went through this and it is amazing to me how much this show reminds me of her stories!
I just saw the 8/24 episode. This show is one of the finest I have ever seen. Please keep it on and give us more episodes. Very well written. I want to buy the box set when it comes out. I am 60 years old. You should be looking at this demo for appreciation.
After only five episodes the jury is still out of course but the show does have flashes of brilliance that speak to its potential. The central themes are about ethics, values and morality but then in episode five one of the main characters has an extra-marital affair when he is smart enough to know that he is being watched by Army intelligence. This seems out of character on multi levels and had better be a red herring or the show is in real danger of becoming just another soap opera.
Love the show! Good historical depiction of the life & times on the hill. The stressors of the job & their effects on family life & the socialization processes within an isolated & clandestined community are well portrayed. I will miss the series & really think the boomers & pre-boomers should be / are the target market. We get it!
I noticed the huge ratings drop off after the premier and I am not surprised. I am a fan of the show but I had to will myself to watch the second episode after the debut attempted to cram way too much exposition into the first hour. Ever since, the episodes have been fast moving and punchy (and yes, fun) with at least one lyrical sequence per episode that hints at the artistry the creators are capable of mustering and shows what the future of this show holds if it is given breathing room. It would be a shame if… Read more »
You are counting the wrong demographic !
… Boomers are more interested in this subject than the 18 – 49ers
…they are the reality show junkies! Count the boomers! We’re not dead yet…our votes pick presidents!
Right! Ratings have always been grouped wrong. They should have 2. 50-70 should the other group-we have the $$ to buy!!!
Nielson
It’s spelled Nielsen.
I am surprised at the low rating, however I do believe the storyline is a bit slow. And why kill the guy so close in to the beginning why not play that story out some??? The story needs something…yet, regardless I do like this show and enjoy the characters.
I think it is a great show and has a lot of great production value and a good period piece. It seems like all the good shows that I just start to watch and enjoy get cancelled. It makes me wonder if I should just stop watching TV.
