ABC surprised more than a few people when the network renewed Men in Trees for a second season. Great, but where did it go?
Marin Frist (Anne Heche) is a best-selling author and relationship coach who helps women find the right man, using her own life as an example. On a plane trip to attend an Alaska conference, she finds out that her finance has been cheating on her and realizes that she doesn’t know as much as she thought she did. Marin decides to stay in the remote town (where the ratio of men to women is 10 to one) so that she can truly learn how to find and keep a good man, and write a new book. The cast also features Abraham Benrubi, Emily Bergl, Seana Kofoed, Suleka Mathew, Derek Richardson, Sarah Strange, Cynthia Stevenson, Lauren Tom, James Tupper, and John Amos.
Men in Trees debuted on September 12, 2006 on ABC. Trees followed the Fall debut of Dancing with the Stars and attracted over 12.1 million viewers. The second episode lost a third of the audience and attracted just over eight million in its regular timeslot. Despite a season of ratings ups and downs, ABC renewed Men in Trees for a second year on March 21st.
Men in Trees has been off the air however since March 8th. ABC pulled the series to make room for the debut of October Road. Trees was originally scheduled to return on April 12th but ABC has reworked its schedule more than once, delaying the return each time.
ABC has now announced that Trees fans will have to wait a whole longer to see new episodes — probably five months. The remaining five episodes of season one will now be part of Trees’ second season, bringing the sophomore year episode total to 27.
Though frustrating and unusual, this isn’t unprecedented. Grey’s Anatomy and Boston Legal both had 27 episode sophomore years. There have been rumors that ABC may change their mind and decide to air the rest this season. We’ll keep you posted so stay tuned! 
Please hurry and bring back Men in Trees. It is the best show on television!!! Connie
PLEASE bring Men In Trees back! It’s my favorite show, one of 4 shows I watch. I love all the characters, the writing is great and I feel the actors were cast perfectly. I will not be inclined to watch that network if it gets axed.
Why don’t you guys get your head out of your hind ends and put “Men in Trees” back on the air instead of giving us so many new shows. When you have a good program that people want to watch why do you keep messing with it?

I’m sorely missing “Men in Trees” these days, and I found “October Road” to be ridiculously nostaligia driven. It just tries too daggum hard. Give me back Marin, Jack, and the Elmo crew, PLEASE!!!!!!
I do not watch alot of television at night but just happened to catch the first episode of Men In Trees. My husband and I watched it faithfully from that time on! We TIVO’d it so we were sure never to miss a new episode. Every week he would ask me if there was a new episode. I never thought I’d see such a disappointed look on that mans face when I had to keep telling him no. And the new October Road? Will not give it a chance until I get my favorite ABC show back. Please bring back Men in Trees! The last season was such a tease. It is part of our household’s Thursday night ritual. BRING IT BACK. BRING IT BACK. WE MISS JACK!
I rarely care enough about a t.v. show to hunt around for what happened to it….but Men In Trees was one of those that was worth it…and I have to say I agree with all these other comments…whoever is doing the programming is really messing up! People eventually lose interest or get hooked on another show when it is impossible to find or keep up with a show’s moves and schedule changes. Ok the good news is that Men In Trees has been renewed. But where is it. I love October Road as well and hope it stays. But I really miss men in trees. Seems like every time I get hooked on a show it gets canceled.
Please bring back Men In Trees! Men In Trees is an entertaining show and there really aren’t too many of those available.

Men in trees seemed to be struggling for more story lines, but it is/was absolutely the best soft hearted show. We miss it. I really liked the fact that it had sexual story lines but was not grossly filled with filth. A bit naughty but not over the top. Seems that every show that draws big crowds heads straight for the garbage and writers go to the gutter for over the top material.
