The latest medical drama on CBS is going the way of Three Rivers and NBC’s Mercy and Trauma. Miami Medical has been cancelled after one season on the air. However, there is some good news.
Miami Medical follows the exciting lives of a group of talented surgeons who work at one of the best trauma centers in the country. The Friday night drama features Lana Parrilla , Jeremy Northam, Omar Gooding, Mike Vogel, and Elisabeth Harnois.
The CBS medical series got off to a poor start on April 2nd with a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.59 million viewers. In week two, the numbers dropped to a 1.4 rating in the demo and 7.1 million viewers. Viewership has continued to tumble and thus far, the season has averaged a disappointing 1.3 rating in the demo and 6.7 million viewers.
To put these figures in perspective, Numb3rs’ season had better numbers — an average of a 1.8 rating and 8.27 million — and was ultimately cancelled.

And now, like so many of the other medical dramas from this season, Miami Medical has been cancelled. There won’t be a second season.
On the positive side, the show was scheduled to finish its run tonight, leaving five of its 13 episodes unaired. But now, CBS has added some additional airdates.
Next Friday’s will be a repeat of the pilot episode. Then, original episodes will return on June 4th, paired with new installments of Flashpoint. The last episode of Miami Medical is expected to air on July 2nd.

How about starting a new network for all of the reality shows ?? That way the garbage junkies can get their fixes 24/7 & good dramas & comedies can continue on (Friday Night Lights/Trauma/Law & Order (original)/& the above mentioned).
I for one change the channel whenever a reality show comes on. They are absolute drivvel !!

I am very sad to see Miami Medical leave. It was the only show I looked forward to. It was a mistake to drop it. It had real depth and a great story. It’s a real shame to see it go. I hope they reconsider and bring it back.
When this series was cancelled I had only watched two or three shows and did not care one way or another! However, I have watched more showsw since then and I feel that this show it looking good now and really should get a 2nd chance in a better time slot!
I only saw one episode, and really liked it. And I have been looking for it often since. But just read it is canceled. I am sorry! Wanted to see more episodes!!!!! Please brng it back.
Why are two of the best medical shows cancelled? For once the shows Miami Medical and Three Rivers weren’t routine hospital stories. They both had great story lines, human drama, mystery, actors that are great to watch, inspirational stories, etc. everything to make a great show. Stop using “selected” Nielsen families from cancelling shows that many watch!!!!!!!!
I agree – bring it back! I am so sick of these “reality” shows I could scream. It took over when Numbers left and at least was something to watch that was good on Friday nights. The Friday night slots are difficult anyway as most people go out ou Fridays after work but some of us do stay home and watch TV, There is so little to watch these days that is worthwhile and this show was!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed both Miami Medical and Three Rivers. The ensemble cast of Miami Medical is terrific. I felt as thought the whole program was really beginning to “hit its stride” andIf only CBS had given it a little longer, it would have, I firmly believe, “come into its own.” What a shame to ax these two fine ensemble dramas.
Cancelled!?! Come on! For a change there is a dynamic group of characters that grab your attention, have lives after work and it’s cancelled!?! Bring it back! I am so tired of the idiotic garbage being produced instead of something that is intellectual. Instead of the Bachlorette or some other stupid reality show that shows how sleazy the world is getting; give us something that shows people trying to help other people. It may not be real but at least it has redeemable qualities.

I may just have to dump CBS if they are cancelling all my favorite hospital dramas! How about keeping something with some substance and dumping a few of those mindless reality or trashy sitcoms?
I posted earlier and I will say it again cancelling miami medical was a mistake. I looked forward each week to watching it weather it be “live” or dvr it was one of the best sence ER and taking that off and leaving others was a bad choice in my book. I am not sure how the they get the numbers but they might want to rethink how they get them.
I think that cancelling miami medical and ghost whisper among others is a big mistake for cbs. People get enough of reality everyday who wants to come home and see it one tv. Miami Medical was like ER.
Big shots messed up again, You educated fools don’t give showes time to win or lose. M.M. is a very well done medical show. The viewer never knows who lives or dies. You know kind of like real life. Please keep it on. Give it at least one full year. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE thanks ary
