The latest medical drama on CBS is going the way of Three Rivers and NBC’s Mercy and Trauma. Miami Medical has been cancelled after one season on the air. However, there is some good news.
Miami Medical follows the exciting lives of a group of talented surgeons who work at one of the best trauma centers in the country. The Friday night drama features Lana Parrilla , Jeremy Northam, Omar Gooding, Mike Vogel, and Elisabeth Harnois.
The CBS medical series got off to a poor start on April 2nd with a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.59 million viewers. In week two, the numbers dropped to a 1.4 rating in the demo and 7.1 million viewers. Viewership has continued to tumble and thus far, the season has averaged a disappointing 1.3 rating in the demo and 6.7 million viewers.
To put these figures in perspective, Numb3rs’ season had better numbers — an average of a 1.8 rating and 8.27 million — and was ultimately cancelled.

And now, like so many of the other medical dramas from this season, Miami Medical has been cancelled. There won’t be a second season.
On the positive side, the show was scheduled to finish its run tonight, leaving five of its 13 episodes unaired. But now, CBS has added some additional airdates.
Next Friday’s will be a repeat of the pilot episode. Then, original episodes will return on June 4th, paired with new installments of Flashpoint. The last episode of Miami Medical is expected to air on July 2nd.

Love the show, great Fla. Plot’s but the scene’s of the hospital looked fake and we don’t have montains in florida ( in all the scene’s on the hosp. Roof! ) that was a real turn-off that was hard to over look.
I am sad that Maimi Medical got cancelled. I thought it was a really awesome show. I was really upset when i found out that there wasn’t going to be a second season. They should bring this show back and give it a second chance to get more viewers.
This show a big disappointment – writers did not follow what has been so successful with their other big hits. Those hits do NOT waste prime time hours like a Soap Opera, with kissy-face, sexual inuendos and overdoses of personal intertwined dramas. The long-lasting successful shows are the ones with crime or medical stories revolving around the situation — not based on pathetic love lorn characters seeped in all manner of male & female ****** behavior and demeanors. Miami Medical was the best show on the air…I wish they would have given it a real chance.
I think it was a HUGE mistake taking it off the air, I really do.
too bad miami medical got cancelled! Interesting actors, good story lines and the writing seemed good . I watched all episodes via dvr and was looking forward to new season! Vogel, Parrila and Harnois, Northam and the male nurse all seemed to have a really good fit with each other. Too bad all the interesting shows get cancelled without much of a real chance.
Should Miami Medical have been cancelled? Yes! Are you kidding? (3%) Maybe, it’s an okay show. (4%) No! Are you kidding? (93 well well well. another great show has been canceled. Just like 3 rivers. I really enjoyed Miami Medical… I just caught up on my DVR and looked to see why I did not have any new recordings and learned it was canceled. It is hard to find a show you really enjoy and have the network cancel it so soon; seems like this happens way to often. Hope another network picks it up as it is well worth it.
Finally, a really great show and you cancel it ?? In fact, you never gave it a chance, wrong day, wrong time, no publicity! If another network bought this show, it would grow into the best medical show since “House”
I watched the first show and recorded the 2nd, but did something wrong and got all the episodes. We weren’t gonna watch them but decided to give it another shot…and got in to it. I hate that it’s been canceled, I was just getting to know the characters and now they’re gone. Any chance someone else will pick it up? I gave it a 2nd chance, maybe someone else will.
Now that most of the Miami Medical fans have spoken and we clearly want to see this show return, I hope that the network is at least scanning this site to get the public’s opinion and I hope that they will reconsider and bring the show back. If the network would like to give up one reality show to save this show, I would say “go for it”. Here Iam waiting for the last two weeks to watch Miami Medical just to find out it has been canceled.I really liked the characters on the show.There are so few series worth watching,this one I liked.I’m sick of the series that look like they have been filmed with a home movie camera.On friday nights after Friday night Lights there is nothing. I’m sick of dateline you know the ones where a spouse is murdered.I guess I’ll turn back to HGTV.How do they know how many people where watching?NO ONE ASKED ME!
