The latest medical drama on CBS is going the way of Three Rivers and NBC’s Mercy and Trauma. Miami Medical has been cancelled after one season on the air. However, there is some good news.
Miami Medical follows the exciting lives of a group of talented surgeons who work at one of the best trauma centers in the country. The Friday night drama features Lana Parrilla , Jeremy Northam, Omar Gooding, Mike Vogel, and Elisabeth Harnois.
The CBS medical series got off to a poor start on April 2nd with a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.59 million viewers. In week two, the numbers dropped to a 1.4 rating in the demo and 7.1 million viewers. Viewership has continued to tumble and thus far, the season has averaged a disappointing 1.3 rating in the demo and 6.7 million viewers.
To put these figures in perspective, Numb3rs’ season had better numbers — an average of a 1.8 rating and 8.27 million — and was ultimately cancelled.

And now, like so many of the other medical dramas from this season, Miami Medical has been cancelled. There won’t be a second season.
On the positive side, the show was scheduled to finish its run tonight, leaving five of its 13 episodes unaired. But now, CBS has added some additional airdates.
Next Friday’s will be a repeat of the pilot episode. Then, original episodes will return on June 4th, paired with new installments of Flashpoint. The last episode of Miami Medical is expected to air on July 2nd.

Maybe they should have actually filmed in Miami…There are no mountains in Miami….big turn off to see them on the helipad.
All the other shows that are still on and have good ratings are for teenie boopers.. So you think you can dance over Miami Medical???? ARE YOU KIDDING ME????????????????? WTF come on CBS this is rediculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everytime they get good shows on they just take them off of the air. Miami was funny and serious and with down to earth actors. There are several nights a week now that I just go to bed early because there is nothing good on any longer. Shows do not stay on too long unless they want crappy ones. I cannot stand some of reality shows that no one really wants to see but are infront of the ones the do want to see.
There are a few good reality shows but i totally agree that Miami Medical should have another chance 🙂 Its a very entertaining show and was looking forward to watching it each week. I dont watch much tv but i do turn the telivision on to watch that one 🙂

Sad to learn that it was canceled. Interaction between characters was good. Storyline added more entertainment as well.
Wow, what a shock. I have been waiting and waiting for season 2 to start and couldn’t find it anywhere, so I decided to check the net. Figures, all the good, clean shows get cancelled. I truly LOVED that show and couldn’t wait for Friday nights. If I couldn’t be home to watch it, I recorded it. I agree with another comment where it was stated that it should come back. Maybe it have worked better during the work week and not on the weekend. Can’t someone give it another try???????? So disappointed…..

I LOVE THIS SHOW!!! GOT MY FRIENDS HOOKED ON IT FROM THE FIRST SHOW… THEN WHEN IT WENT OFF I JUST FIGURED THAT WHEN THE NEW SEASON COMES AROUND THAT IT WOULD BE BACK…. THAT WAS AN INTENSE SHOW… BRING IT BACK….. HOPE SOME ONE GETS THIS……….
I am very disappointed i really enjoyed this show and all the actors in it , it had alot of heart and made me feel good watching it. So sad
My wife and I loved this show. Went searching recently for the second season only to find out it was cancelled ! It was not well promoted though. Plus being on at 10 p.m hurt it too. It had really great story lines. What do they think people want to see? Hate most of what’s left out there to see. It’s all just garbage. All these reality shows are so lame. It’s a shame the good ones don’t last.
I LOVED THIS SHOW!!!!! was very excited for season 2 Now Mercy and Trauma are cancelled as well? WTF??? This is rediculous! But Survivor and all the dance shows and american idol still on? This is messed up!!!!

I loved the show and am very disappointed that it is not returning. I agree with everyone above… give them a fighting chance and promote them. This was a good, clean show, so I guess that’s why it didn’t last. I hate this…
Otra vez una serie de médicos canceladas, me gustaba Trauma y Mercy tenía un pase y Miami Medical estaba bien me gustó, no dan segundas temporadas a series que no sean superbombazos.House al principio nadie la conocía era una serie de culto que seguía la gente porque alguien se lo había comentado y si no hacen una segunda hubiese sido una pena, pero apostaron por ella y mira donde está ahora.
We really enjoyed this show and Trauma and Mercy. Why do they not give these shows a chance and market them more like Anonymous said.
Really cancelled, Miami Medical, Mercy and Three Rivers, all great shows. Why don’t you cancel some of the reality shows. Wake up guys.
Agreed! Miami Medical was great. I personally think that there wasn’t enough marketing behind it. Regardless, it’s a shame. I was really looking forward to more.
