It was looking like Mike & Molly might be cancelled this time around but CBS has renewed it for a sixth season.
On Mike & Molly, Molly (Melissa McCarthy) pursues her career as a writer while Mike (Billy Gardell) continues working as a cop. The rest of the cast includes Swoosie Kurtz, Katy Mixon, Louis Mustillo, Reno Wilson, Cleo King, Rondi Reed, Nyambi Nyambi, and David Anthony Higgins.
The 13 episodes of season five that have aired so far have averaged a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.97 million viewers. Season-to-season, that’s down slightly in the demo but up a bit in viewership. It’s the sixth-highest rated sitcom on the network this season.
Mike & Molly producer Julie Bean posted an Instagram photo of executive producer Chuck Lorre delivering the news to the production team.
Mom has also been renewed for the 2015-16 season. The Big Bang Theory is one season into a three season renewal so Lorre will have at least three comedies on CBS next season.

Mike and Molly is my favorite show. I would be terribly upset if they cancelled it.
My husband and I watch Mike and Molly before going to bed. It is so funny how could you not get a good night sleep after watching them. I have never seen a program where everyone was great at making you laugh. We don’t have enough programs that have that, and a good hard laugh is good for the soul. Just wish we knew when they were coming back. We have watched the old ones over and over just to get a good laugh.
Mike and Molly is one of the two sitcoms that I enjoy. It’s well written and the cast is excellent, can’t wait for the 6hth season to start. Hurry
There are so few shows on TV that make me laugh out loud. I think it is important to recognize well written dialogue. Mile and Molly is one of few sit-coms where all the characters are equally funny. I always looked forward to an evening with them.
Of all sitcoms, mine & Molly was genuinely funny. Not since mash had there been an adult comedy worth watching. The characters are hilarious. I truly miss not seeing it this season. Hope it comes back soon.

Mike and Molly is my favorite show. The cast is unbeliebably talented. Anyone who has never watched it really should give it a try by watching reruns on Fox or FX. LOVE, LOVE this show!
I am so glad Mike and Molly has been renewed. I cannot wait for the new season. Right now I am content with watching the reruns but I hope the show comes back soon. Bring back Kathy Bates, and of course, the police chief.
I cannot believe that CBS may have cancelled Mike & Molly this season. I am SO happy they renewed it. There is so little quality television anymore and this show stands out as a winner, and one of a very few high quality shows. It is so funny that I am often find myself laughing out loud! The characters are talented and each one contributes so much individually and as a group. They have the gift of great timing in their delivery as well. Mike and Molly is one of the funniest shows in a while. There are now only 2 sitcoms worth watching Big Bang Theory and Mike and Molly.
