Becca Winstone’s chase is over. ABC has cancelled Missing, their Thursday night TV series, after one season and 10 episodes.
Starring Ashley Judd, Missing follows a former CIA Agent turned single mom as she searches for her missing son in Europe. The action show also stars Adriano Giannini, Nick Eversman, Cliff Curtis, Tereza Voriskova, and Sean Bean.
Missing got off to a disappointing start on March 15th, registering a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.60 million viewers. It was in third place for the demo and second place in total viewership.
In week two, the numbers took a significant drop, to a 1.6 rating with 8.81 million. Over the next several weeks, Missing fell lower and lower. The most recent episode hit a new low with a 1.1 demo rating and 6.37 million total viewers.

Overall, Missing’s been averaging a 1.5 rating with 7.70 million viewers. If they had more episodes in the season, those averages would surely keep sinking lower.
On our ABC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative demo success of TV shows on the network, Missing has a “D-” for a grade. Of the 22 scripted shows on the network this season, Missing ranks 21st — just above the already-cancelled Charlie’s Angels remake.
With low ratings and steep declines, it’s no wonder that ABC decided not to renew Missing for a second season.
The series finale airs next Thursday and will hopefully include enough closure to satisfy the viewers that stuck with it.

So disappointed that this show was cancelled,,,,I really enjoyed it. It had everything,,,action, great chase scenes, excellent story line with plots within plots, , very good actors,,,,,,this could have been a great show if the network had publicized it as it SHOULD have.

I absolutely hate that the show is being cut. I wouldn’t make any plans to miss my thursday’s with missing. The show was like going to the movies every week. Maybe they didn’t advertise enough? I just hate it. So disappointed.
I hate that they cancelled “Missing”. I could hardly wait until Thursday evening at 8pm. to watch what would happen next. You have on a decent show that all family can watch & cancel it. The shows they have on aren’t worth my time & aren’t worth watching today. Reality, cooking, games, come on!! Give us a break!! Give us something that will hold our attention,as “Missing ” did. All the actors & actresses were GREAT!!! Please! Please! Bring it back!!!
I liked the show, but liked the concept of a show with an ending better. They took a movie concept, and filled it out over ten hours instead of two. Better character developement, more story nuance, greater anticipation for the ending. I was disappointed when the finale included Becca’s disappearance. It was a cheap shot. If they wanted to open the door for future episodes, the writers could have a scene with Interpol or the CIA asking the husband / wife pair if they were interested in new assignments. love the show and I’m disapointed cause we were left witn a cliffhanger.. which will never be resolve, we will never know what happened to her, where is she?if they want the shows to have better ratings and chance to stay on air, they should cancel at singing ,cooking, dancing,reality shows, every one of them ..first, they are stupid and boring, they should bring back the tv as it was in 2000, no reality shows.but since the first survivor, all the tv station went nuts, no wonder we can’t keep the shows we love, they keep cancelling them!!
I love this show. I only watch 4 shows on ABC and they just cancelled 2 of them, Missing and GCB. I truly believe that the time slot for Missing was a big problem and there was little to no advertising for it. Had the network actually advertised it it might have had a chance. Why give such a great cliffhanger and then cancel? I am very disappointed with ABC and am keeping my fingers crossed that another network picks up this gem.
I am so disappointed in the cancellation of MIssing. I thought it was such a terrific storyline and fantastic acting by Ashley Judd and the entire cast. The settings were absolutely spectacular.
So many other of my friends loved the show as well. Can’t imagine it being cancelled — and with a cliffhanger ending.
Wth! I was already hooked on this show, now its already cancelled! c’mon! this is one of ABC’s best show. Wth, ABC?
I cannot believe that this program would be cancelled. It’s certainly not the shows fault for a dropping audience. Its been the first good thing I’ve watched since 24. Renew it!
this was such a good show. how could it miss with Ashley Judd and Sean Bean? I can’t see any reason for it to fail. personally, i watched every episode. And to leave us not knowing what happened to Becca. Can’t wait to see what crap they replace it with.
I LOVE watching “Missing” with my family every Thursday night! I can’t believe they cancelled it!!!!!! This is so disappointing. People must not have watched the first few episodes, so they didn’t understand it. “Missing” is a great show that left me crying on the last episode…and then BAM..something else happens! They definitely made it look like there was going to be another season…but I guess not. I may stop watching any series on ABC because of the threat of being hurt again.
THIS IS A GREAT SHOW. I GUESS THERE WASN’T ENOUGH DUMB WOMEN RUNNING AROUND WITH THIER BREASTS HANGING OUT FOR THE NETWORK TO KEEP THE SHOW ON. ANY SHOW THAT DEMONSTRATES ANY INTELLEGENCE DOESN’T LAST. HOPEFULLY A CABLE CHANNEL WILL PICK IT UP. I LOVE ASHLEY JUDD AND THE REST OF THE CAST. A VERY SMART MYSTERY!
Great program and left the season with a cliffhanger…….! I hate that about getting into a TV Series you just get into the whole thing I watched every episode and BANG its over !!
I agree, absolutely love the show, never missed and episode and the ending was such a cliffhanger that I just knew there had to be another season. Shame on ABC. Seems like every network cancels the shows I like,
I worked all week and. Rush home every Thursday night to watch the shoe “Missing” ! Fabulous show!!! Yet show that should not stay on are still running! Come on seriously?
I think it’s really wierd! If you can’t keep the show, why have end it with a cliffhanger? I think its shameful of ABC to do that!
You could have ended with cheesy happily ever after, or renew and try to change the time and day, its not such a good time it runs.
STOP CANCEL ALL THE GOOD SHOWS and with cliffhangers…gah…
