Mom is ending this week after eight seasons and 170 episodes. CBS has now released details and several sneak peeks for the sitcom’s finale. Melanie Lynskey is set to appear in the last episode after a recent appearance on Young Sheldon and a long-running role on Two and a Half Men, all series executive produced by Chuck Lorre.
Allison Janney, Mimi Kennedy, Jaime Pressly, Beth Hall, William Fichtner, and Kristen Johnston star in the Mom series which follows Bonnie (Janney) and a close group of female recovering addicts. Season eight found Bonnie her dealing with her daughter’s departure for the east coast.
CBS revealed the following about the final episode, titled My Kinda People and the Big To-Do:
“Bonnie gains a new outlook on her sobriety after dealing with difficult news. Also, Jill and Andy take a big step in their relationship, on the series finale of MOM, Thursday, May 13 (9:01-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Melanie Lynskey and Rondi Reed guest star.”
What do you think? Are you sad to see Mom end on CBS? Have you enjoyed watching this comedy series?
We are So upset that Mom is canceled. One of the best shows of all time, not just one of greatest comedies. Please someone else pick up this show!!
I DON’T WANT MOM TO END!!! PLEASE RENEW RENEW RENEW!!!
I am super bummed MOM was canceled. This show is GOLD. Even after the Anna Faris departure, the show didn’t suffer. A great bunch of actors! And the big wigs of CBS really need to reconsider.
I’m very sad the series is ending, but I wish the writers could write a script for these very talented women, much like when Roseanne left her show, and the writers, producers,et.al gave usThe Connors. Especially because all the women are fantastic, lovable and make us laugh!
I am so sad that CBS cancelled mom, I don’t mind missing Christy at all, I wish another network would pick it up.
I’m really going to miss Mom, I looked forward to it every week and I’m sad to see that we won’t have it anymore. If it was canceled because the powers that be thought the audience was gonna miss Christy I think they were wrong. I don’t miss Christy whatsoever, I think the show moved forward much better without her, it was able to focus on the other characters more, give them more of a storyline which I found very enjoyable. All in all I’m really going to miss it!
I hate to see Mom go just as I hate to see MacGiver go. There is so much crap on tv and yet they cancel great shows. Mom was a regular Thursday night for my husband and me like MacGiver was our Friday night along with Hawaii 5O and Blue Bloods.
Yes, I will definitely miss Mom. I believe addicts can gain much from watching weekly story lines plus it’s funny, well written, and poinient. So so sorry to see it canceled. A truly painful loss for me.
Very sad to see Mom go, it was my goto for smiles. We don’t need any more violence, what’s wrong with tv shows that have a message and can let us escape the world, if only for a half hour. Why why why did you cancel it???????
I have enjoyed watching Mom for these eight seasons and wish there were eight more. I think CBS made a mistake cancelling the show.
It’s not often that a sitcom actually has healing power…this one did. Gone too soon.
I hate to see this show end! I love it!!
Seeing clips for the last episode shows how much more there could be !!!
Please, everyone/ reconsider.
People need this show!!!! ❤️❤️
I look forward to Mom every week! It’s funny and very uplifting!! I can’t believe it is canceled !
Young Sheldon is starting to get stale yet CBS renewed it for three more seasons. Mom still had good ratings and could not be renewed? I hope by the end of next season’s Young Sheldon, CBS regrets both decisions. I’ve come to really like The Neighborhood, but I can live without it. As far as I am concerned, the CBS sitcom lineup without Mom will be far from “must see TV.”
Mom is the best show. How could you cancel it? Whoever cancelled this show needs to rethink that decision.
