Shawn Mendes is going unplugged. Variety reports the musician will help launch MTV’s upcoming reboot of MTV Unplugged.

The concert series debuted in 1989 and features musical artists performing acoustic versions of their songs. Previous guests have included Eric Clapton, Mariah Carey, Rod Stewart, Nirvana, Bruce Springsteen, and Alicia Keys.

Mendes will appear on the premiere of MTV‘s upcoming Unplugged revival, which is set to debut on September 8th.
