The mystery is over. Deadline reports NBC has cancelled The Mysteries of Laura after two seasons.
The crime drama starred Debra Messing as an NYPD homicide detective struggling to raise her young sons as a single mom. Josh Lucas, Laz Alonso, Janina Gavankar, Max Jenkins, Callie Thorne, and Med Steedle also starred.
The cancellation is a little surprising. The Mysteries of Laura held consistently decent ratings over the course of its second season, receiving an average of 1.11 in the 18-49 demo and a total of 6.973 million viewers.
NBC has also cancelled several of their series, including the freshman comedy Telenovela and the live sitcom Undateable.
What do you think? Did you watch The Mysteries of Laura? Are you sad it’s been cancelled?
My husband and I only found this show, this year. We loved the characters and the storyline. We enjoyed the crime, without all the gore. So, disappointed to find, there was no Season 3.
My husband & I didn’t find this series, until 2018. We both loved this show. Good storyline. We loved the characters. And, we enjoyed the crime, without all the gore. We were so disappointed to find there was no Season 3.
I thought it was good. Love Debra Messing and especially josh lucus.
The actors were perfect, right?
Total corporate screw up! Please bring back!
I won’t start any new drama series on NBC. I can’t risk liking a new series only to have it yanked right out from under me! I miss Laura, Jake and the rest of the precinct staff!
I looked forward to The Mysteries of Laura every week for two years. I kept watching for it when the 2016-17 season started never even thinking that it could have been cancelled! I was so disappointed to find out the series had been cancelled with no notice. I wanted Laura and Jake to reconcile and become a family again with their twins. I wish another network would pick up the series and continue it soon. It was a great show!
