SPOILERS. Reportedly, there was a happy ending to last night’s Nashville TV series finale, “Maybe You’ll Appreciate Me Someday.” It seems Lionsgate TV nixed the sweet denouement in favor of a shocking cliffhanger, in an effort to market future seasons of the Country-Western music drama to new buyers. ABC recently cancelled Nashville, starring Connie Britton, Charles Esten, and Clare Bowen, after four seasons.
In the aired Nashville finale, Juliette’s (Hayden Panettiere) plane went missing and she was feared dead. According to TV Line, another version of the finale had Juliette land safely and reunite with Avery (Jonathan Jackson).
TV Line says:
Reps for ABC and Lionsgate declined to comment, but a source close to Lionsgate tells TVLine that the studio “is fully confident that there’s much more Nashville to be told. Tonight’s Season 4 finale ending speaks to that confidence. Not to frustrate or disappoint fans, rather Lionsgate, ABC Studios and Opry Entertainment are listening to fans’ outpouring of support online for more.”
For its part, it looks like Lionsgate TV had a tweet all lined up for the moment the Nashville TV show concluded its ABC run. Check it out.
#Nashies What a cliffhanger! But we won’t leave you hanging. There's more story to be told. #BringBackNashville

What do you think? Have you taken part in the social media campaign to find the Nashville TV series a new home for its fifth season? Are you glad Lionsgate promoted a risky strategy in order to sell the show, or are you angry you didn’t get closure?
Please bring Nashville TV show back. It was the best show ever! 5 seasons is not enough, how about keep it going for awhile!
Please bring it back showing where CMT is bringing it back can’t wait I loved this show please keep it going.
You have to bring it back – I will watch it on what ever network it’s on it’s a great show.
I agree Angela Felix! They should bring Nashville back! They were getting great ratings. Maybe they cancelled the show because Connie Britton left.
Nashville is up there with Grey’s Anatomy and the show should stay on ABC ( which is the best TV network). I will follow Nashville to a new network if it stops the show from being canceled. Nashville’s home is at ABC and that’s where it should stay!
You are so right Mona Lewis! Nashville is the best show and I would follow it to another network too!
The best show…it really gave me a reason to like country music! Acting is superb!! Please bring it back, I’m a loyal fan 😉
This has been one of my favorite TV shows in a very long time. I certainly hope it comes back on another station. I’m glad they left a cliffhanger just in case it does
heartbroken to learn about the cancelation of “Nashville.” I’ve watched from the beginning. PLEASE figure out a way to keep it going. My daughter and I watch on Hulu. I am disabled and have to sit a lot. This is my favorite show. I try to patiently wait for the next episode. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring it back.
My favorite show! Please bring it to cable tv since I do not have access to streaming.
Oops, “since I missed a few seasons”
I just started binge-watching Nashville last week; wish I had been watching it all along since a missed a few seasons. Please don’t cancel it. I love this show. My family and I met Jonathan Jackson and his family in 1998 in Burbank, CA, awesome family and an amazing young man, actor and singer, too. He was a favorite of ours on General Hospital, as well. If ABC won’t continue it, try NBC.
Love Nashville – my favourite show! Hope they have some success to bring it back – perhaps streaming via Netflix?
Please bring Nashville back !! ( on a REGULAR tv channel – for those of us who dont have access to alternatives I’ve seen mentioned.)
I love this show! Please bring it back. i hated country music before I saw this show. It opened up a new genre of music for me. I am a fan now. I will continue to watch this show, on whatever network its picked up on.
This was my favorite show. Nashville has potential for several more seasons! So upset ABC canceled it. Very dissappointed. This show is much better than all the crazy reality shows and crimes shows on tv today..
It should definitely continue!!!!!! I love nashville, please bring it back for a fifth season.
