NCIS: New Orleans has been cancelled by CBS after seven seasons, and star Scott Bakula recently spoke about finishing the series and leaving New Orleans behind.
The cast and crew were not expecting CBS to cancel the show and were informed in February, as they were filming episode 13. “It was painful,” said executive producer Jan Nash, “but it was a blessing to have enough time to make adjustments and a finale that feels very true to New Orleans.”
Bakula said the following about the finale of NCIS: New Orleans and filming it during the pandemic, per TV Insider:
“The last episode of a seven-year series has all kinds of light shining on it. People gave speeches, bumped elbows. They had their masks on. It was bittersweet: We shot 16 episodes and are proud of the season, but it was goodbye — and from a distance.”
Vanessa Ferlito, Necar Zadegan, Charles Michael Davis, Rob Kerkovich, Daryl “Chill” Mitchell, and CCH Pounder also star in this CBS procedural drama. The series finale is set to air on May 23rd.

I think CBS made a BIG mistake cancelling this series. Why???….rstings were no worse than many others and they stuck it in a late Sunday night spot which was often much later due to the late finish of many NFL games that pushes the schedule back often!……BOO CBS!!
I’m saddened by the cancellation of NCIS New Orleans
It’s my favorite of the franchise. I won’t be watching the Hawaii version.

There has hot to be a way to bring it back just like supernatural was brought by another channel and it continued till the end I’m hoping the channel that picked up supernatural will pick up ncis nola

I am very upset that NCIS New Orleans is being canceled. I really enjoyed watching the show. I was very upset when Christopher LaSalle died I know it was the actors choice to leave but there’s no chance for him to come back. And now that you’re canceling it totally I don’t know it’s gonna leave a hole.

Another cancellation with little expectation. Like Mom it must be tied to money on contract renewals. In this case how is moving production to Hawaii saving them any money regardless of what they pay the actors? Just want to hook up with Magnum for cross overs? It really doesn’t matter what the viewers think. So sad to see this group go. Scott Bakula is the best.
I agree with you they cancelled. Hawaii. Five. O that was in. Hawaii and expensive. NCIS Hawaii is going to be expensive maybe they should change the time slot as well not so late

Wish they would have cancelled NCIS Los Angeles instead. NCIS New Orleans was 20 x better than it.
Not happy at all, but every show that’s in that time slot has been canceled due to the fact that 60 Minutes is NOT 60 but sometimes 90. People gave to work the next day they and I for 1 am not staying up to watch my NCIS or any other 1. I think CBS should put 60 minutes somewhere else where it’s not going to interrupt other programming.
It has been a very big favorite. I think they are making a big mistake canceling it. Scott Bakula is a great actor. I will miss it.
