NCIS: New Orleans has been cancelled by CBS after seven seasons, and star Scott Bakula recently spoke about finishing the series and leaving New Orleans behind.
The cast and crew were not expecting CBS to cancel the show and were informed in February, as they were filming episode 13. “It was painful,” said executive producer Jan Nash, “but it was a blessing to have enough time to make adjustments and a finale that feels very true to New Orleans.”
Bakula said the following about the finale of NCIS: New Orleans and filming it during the pandemic, per TV Insider:
“The last episode of a seven-year series has all kinds of light shining on it. People gave speeches, bumped elbows. They had their masks on. It was bittersweet: We shot 16 episodes and are proud of the season, but it was goodbye — and from a distance.”
Vanessa Ferlito, Necar Zadegan, Charles Michael Davis, Rob Kerkovich, Daryl “Chill” Mitchell, and CCH Pounder also star in this CBS procedural drama. The series finale is set to air on May 23rd.

I wish it wouldn’t end, I enjoyed the show and the characters. Especially Scott Bakula. Loved the series in New Orleans setting and the stories. I think it was a big mistake canceling the show!

Shame on CBS!!!!!!!!!!! Why did you cancel a grounded excellent NCIS New Orleans yet are developing another NCIS Hawaii? It does not make sense! NCIS New Orleans is my favorite one to watch! Watching the cast together was entertaining and like a big family. I pray each of them find new work quickly. We are going to miss this show terribly. Oh and we will not be watching the new one or the others!!!! Thank you Scott Bakula and cast for a great run!!!
CBS may be taking NCIS to Hawaii, but I won’t be going with them. As we say in South Louisiana, c’est tout.
I’m am truly upset that CBS has canceled NCIS NEW ORLEANS? This was my favorite show of the week. This is what cbs has been doing since the 80’s. They get get u watching and loving a show and without warning it’s gone. But I think jealousy was the answer to this move. Mark Harmon didn’t like it was so beloved. Mark’s show might have bigger ratings, but Scott was”BELOVED” by the fans. I’d follow him anywhere. I’m so SAD its leaving. And now I’ll be more cautious watching CBS shows because of this. GOD SPEED SCOTT, love u dearly.
Of the 3 NCIS series ,NCIS New Orleans is the one that ,for me that is ,gives you a special feeling ,maybe it’s Scot Bakula(his way of acting) and the rest of the cast or the fact that it plays in New Orleans
Also the fact that this team have drinks together gives it that team(family ) feeling.

Why does CBS let the fans fall in love with the show and then cancel it. Out of all of the NCIS franchise NCIS New Orleans was my absolute favorite. I have been a devoted fan of CBS for years. Other than a cable show or a streaming service I watch CBS shows from the time I wake up in the morning until I go to bed at night. Still dissatisfied with the decision to end this show, and the callous way they did it. We are fans for a reason, and I do not think I will be watching the Hawaii show. If I wanted to watch that would’ve watch Hawaii 50
They shouldn’t cancel New Orleans. It’s fabulous! They should cancel Los Angeles. That jumped the shark YEARS ago.
NCIS NO is good t.v. I am not surprised it is cancelled. Reality and game shows seem to be the cheap way to go. Brainless productions that cost little to make with no talent to pay. Reruns are better than new programming by far.
I think CBS made a bad mistake. They have moved you around nights several times and changed the cast several times. Then left fans hanging
Ill watch the finally, and reruns, but I don’t know what they think they ate going to do for a replacement. Oh Yeah Hawaii.
WE HAD Hawaii 5-02.0, And Magnum 2.0 , so lets sho e another Hawaii down our throats. No Thanks !!
I love ncis no. I hate that it is going away and I do not want a female heading hawaii or the removal of Gibbs. Leave my shows alone!
The show grew on me and is now one of my favorite shows, watch everyone I can plus the reruns one of the better shows on TV, the cast new and old were awesome.
Going to miss NCIS ew Orleans and the whole crew. Please find a good show for all to star in,especially Scott Bakula. Loved him in all of the shows he has starred in.
Very disappointed that they canceled the show. Enjoyed the entire cast. I liked this show more than NCIS LA
I agree with Jennifer. I enjoy all NCIS shows but why cancel this one over NCIS LA?
