It seems clear that Gibbs and his team aren’t ready to retire yet. CBS has renewed their venerable crime drama NCIS for a 13th season.
On NCIS, Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his team of special agents continue to investigate crimes that involve the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. Co-stars this season are Emily Wickersham, Michael Weatherly, Sean Murray, David McCallum, Pauley Perrette, Rocky Carroll, and Brian Dietzen.
The ratings for season 12 have come down, averaging a 2.45 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 17.36 million viewers. That’s a season-to-season decline of 13% in the demo and about 6% in viewers.
Still, it’s one of the most-watched TV shows currently on television and so there’s no way that CBS would let it go to the television graveyard.

NCIS is one of the very best shows on the air!! They are the originals with a cast that can’t be touched!!
NCIS LA isn’t a bad spinoff I enjoy watching them, great cast!
NCIS NO should be the one cancelled. There are only so many copies you can make from the original before you start to lose the quality!
I have watched all of ncis even he repeat series I have now caught up all of the teams works, I think it would be a shame if Gibbs gets killed off, as he is the back of the team ad all your viewers would miss the slaps he gives Tony . so please don’t et rid of Gibbs
Ive being following the show from the VERY FIRST EP…and loving it more and more every season. Gibbs character cant die !! He is the spinal cord of the show.
Ziva was a very important part of it as well. I missed her so much. Bishop is a bit booring , no bad but shes s far from the strength of Zivas character.. Ziva was complex and strong…and her character always kept a dose of mistery. Emily, well… she s a good girl.

I have been watching this show for 12 years. Love it. Please let this show run for at least another 8 years. Would love to see it run 20 years. Thanks CBS for renewing it for the 13th season.
I think that NCIS can go on as long as the current actors stay because the characters are great, the actors are great and the writers still semms to have good ideas for the show. This has been my favorite show since the first episode and I really enjoy every episode.
OK, sometimes I miss Kate, sometimes I miss Ziva but Emily is a great character too. I didn’t like that they killed off Kate. Ziva did at least get a decent send-off. I hope this series will go on for many more seasons.
I think if you brought Zava back your rating would go back up.
NCIS is an awesome show! I don’t think that they’ll kill Gibbs, since he makes the show quite amazing. I think what might happen is that Gibbs will be in recovery for the first few episodes, thus letting DiNozzo run the show, and then Gibbs comes back to the team that we all know and love, to lead it. Then something else happens, leading to Gibbs and DiNozzo having two separate teams that end up working on the same project…
By adding the other NCIS shows, you are drawing the attention away from the original. I like the others but nothing is like the original. The family of actors make this show and it should remain on the air.
I LOVE NCIS AND ALL THE ACTION, BUT ESPECIALY THE FLUID RELATIONSHIPS THAT ARE A HALLMARK OF GOOD WRITING AND GOOD/EXCELLENT ACTING. THANK YOU FOR KEEPING THIS SERIES GOING!! I LOVED SHIVA AND MISS HER, BUT ABBIE IS VERY EXCELLENT BALANCE!
