For the first time in NCIS’ very long history on CBS, Michael Weatherly isn’t part of the cast. Will this negatively impact the ratings for the network’s most-watched TV series? With such high ratings, the show wouldn’t be in danger of being cancelled and CBS has already renewed the show for season 15. Still, it’s fun to watch the ratings. Stay tuned.
On NCIS, Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his team of special agents continue to investigate crimes that involve the US Navy and Marine Corps. The rest of the season 14 cast includes Brian Dietzen, David McCallum, Emily Wickersham, Pauley Perrette, Rocky Carroll, Sean Murray, Wilmer Valderrama, Jennifer Esposito, and Duane Henry.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/10 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The 13th season of NCIS averaged a 2.21 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 16.61 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the NCIS TV series? Do you think it should have already been renewed for season 15 on CBS?
How the once ‘mighty’ NCIS has fallen in the ratings. While it once was tolerable, it is unbearable to watch now.
I love this show, and hope it will con’t to be aired for many more seasons !
With the current cast and revamped , water downed characters, the show should NOT be renewed. Show could have sustained good ratings if they had not added the two new agents. The MI6 guy would have been a good one or bring Burley into the team permently would have been great, or bring Jamie Lee Curtis back and into Gibbs life, any of that would have made a big difference but the show doesnt listen to fan suggestions thus falling ratings.
NCIS has always been my favorite. However the new cast members have ruined it. Gibbs, Ducky, Abbs, Emily and McGee could easily carry this show. Why did they hire such poor actors. None have the class of Tony . Even McGee looks like he is dropping weight way too fast….this and what looks like bad implants for teeth. I loved McGee before, but he looks almost as if he is on chemo. Ditch the new actors. My most difficult thing to watch in Season 14 is how Jennifer bosses Emily around and her lack of respect for the true leader,… Read more »
No, I don’t bother watching it anymore – no Tony no Ziva!
Keep the show. Leave Weatherly on Bull. Ditch Esposito and Valderrama. They are mismatched for the show’s chemistry. I have been a loyal fan since day 1, but I can barely stand to watch these two.
Ziva leaving injured the show. Dinozzo leaving knocked them onto life support. The terrible preachy writing pulled the plug. New characters have no character or chemistry. What fool casts this show now? I’m done, cancel it now before it damages the reputation even more of what once was a great show.
Always have loved the show and I am very happy with dinozzo’s replacement he is Hot smart and fits in with the team perfectly.
You must be kidding
This used to be my favorite show, but now it has too many characters of mediocre substance to endure each week. Instead of hiring just one qualified person to replace Michael Weatherly, they hired three. Why didn’t they just hire the guy who plays the MI-6 agent? He’s great, but he hasn’t had any decent screen time at all, so far, and with the three new people, the regular cast doesn’t have enough screen time either. Gibbs isn’t even himself anymore, he’s gone soft. It’s so disappointing. Who’s casting this show? Maybe they need some viewers help.
You are so so so right on every level!
NCIS has become too preachy. I don’t want to listen to the writer’s opinions, like last night’s episode. Turned it off partway through. Why’d I bother to turn it on?
The episode on 11-22 is another example of the writer’s opinion being too preachy. If that keeps up expect viewership to fall and cancelation to follow.
I really wanted to like the new characters. But they share no chemistry, the writing this season is somehow off (I hear some writers followed Weatherly to Bull, which is very good) and poor Gibbs is basically unrecognisable. yes. that show’s done, at least for me.
I haven’t watched anything after the first episode this season. The broken english agent was enough for me.
My favorite show just keeps getting worse and worse! There is no chemistry left between any of the characters. Bishop was a bad fit and the two newest characters are the worst. The writing is SO not up to par, even Abbey seems a bit off. Abbey, Ducky and Jimmy do not appear near enough. The only good thing I can say is the MI6 guy was an excellent choice, I thought so last season. Looks like I will mostly be watching reruns.
I completely agree with Campbell. Bishop is bland at best, and CBS has not filled the hole left with Weatherly and Ziva leaving the show. The lack of humor and chemistry has killed this show. TOO many new characters has imho has spoiled the broth. BTW Gibbs is so flat, there is nothing redeeming here.
NCIS has been my favorite show since it came on the air up until this season. It was bad enough when Ziva was no longer there, but when Michael Weatheely left that killed it for me
A show that is only a shadow of its former self. And that wasn’t much to me
