The ratings for NCIS dropped last season but the series remained the most-watched TV show on network television. While there seems to be no chance of NCIS being cancelled, shows do get more expensive the longer they’re on the air and this one’s been around a long time. Could this be the final season or is a 13th season renewal all-but guaranteed? Stay tuned.
On NCIS, Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his team of special agents continue to investigate crimes that involve the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. Co-stars are Emily Wickersham, Michael Weatherly, Sean Murray, David McCallum, Pauley Perrette, Rocky Carroll, and Brian Dietzen.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/11 update: To no surprise, CBS has renewed NCIS for a 13th season.
Final season averages: 2.43 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 17.26 million total viewers.

Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a few weeks later.
For comparisons: The 11th season of NCIS averaged a 2.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 18.5 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the NCIS TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a 13th season? How long should it continue?
I love this show it’s the best i set my arlam for every Tuesday night & for every Wedesday. Gibb is awsome.
Sure miss Ziva.
The electricity between Tony and her was indescribable.
It just hasn’t been the same without her.
The problem began with the new replacement. She was given no character. All she does is frown. If you can’t get Cody back get the red head. The show has lost its zip. Come on guys, fix it.
Agent Bishop is a complete dud. The show has become boring and predictable. By any measure, by a huge margin , NCIS Los Angeles is the best of the three shows and has the best cast and stories. Why has it been relegated to 10 p.m. on Monday night?
Please bring back Zeva!
Still like the show but much less interest in it with Bishop. If she stays don’t know if I’ll still watch NCIS as it is just not the same show; probably won’t.
We have watched every episode and love the show, we wish Ziva had stayed but we still
enjoy the show and hope it stays on. We love the original characters and hope they don’t kill off anyone else.
I’ve watched every episode of NCIS since the beginning-I,m really having a hard time with Bishop (her over exagerated expressions for instance. I’ll stick it out for the season
Not a good as it once was. The best shows had Ziva . Now it’s like they just go through the motions, except for Gibbs of course .
Harmon appears to be phoning it in as well
NCIS is the best show on network television. I like the Bishop character. Unlike super ninja
Ziva, Bishop has realistic human weaknesses.
great show
I truly pray the show does not get cancelled
Ziva. Where are you. Really wish you were back and something could develop between you and tony
NCIS HAS TO BE CONTINUED! IT IS THE MOST REALISTIC SHOW ON TV.
I HAVE NOT MISSED ONE SHOW SINCE THE BEGINNING. LA AND NEW ORLEANS
ARE OK; BUT I HAVE DIFFICULTY NOT COMPARING THEM TO THE ORIGINAL
AND THE DON’T REALLY MEASURE UP.
Wow! So what do you say about the last episode ( season 12 – 9)? It was awesome, wasn’t it. NCIS is back to its old excellence.
Bishop (Emily Wickersham) is not a good actress and definitely not a good fit with the others. I am sure there is someone that could do a better job.
I am really becoming discouraged with the show. I keep trying, but not for long.
I have to agree NO-ONE could replace Ziva, and in the beginning
I felt she was not a great replacement for Kate; but after 3 or 4
Episodes Ziva was great. Can’t stand new girl. She just doesn’t have it.
Wow! And here I thought it was just me who didn’t like the Bishop character! I have nothing against the actress who plays Bishop but the character is just plain boring to the point that it actually pains me to watch NCIS anymore. We did not need a female version of the Magee character who appears to be suffering from an attention deficit disorder and which has made Magee ineffective. And I’m sick of Tony’s pinning over Ziva. I began watching JAG and then NCIS when it spun off. I loved it so much that I never missed an episode,… Read more »
the character is young and blonde to appeal to the “tech savvy” millennials. young and blonde is also go to ploy for hollywood when a show is getting old and or losing viewers.
only it isn;t working. the demo is going down and skewing even older.
