It’s time for San Antonio Memorial’s emergency room night shift staff to clock out. The Night Shift TV show has been cancelled after four seasons on NBC. The medical drama first premiered in of May of 2014. It ran as a summer series, except in season two, when it was a mid-season replacement.
Airing on the NBC television network, The Night Shift stars Robert Bailey Jr., Eoin Macken, Jill Flint, Brendan Fehr, Scott Wolf, Tanaya Beatty, and JR Lemon, with Mark Consuelos recurring in season four. The series centers on the quirky, yet extraordinary emergency room night shift at San Antonio Memorial, who’ll risk almost anything to save their patients.
The Night Shift: A Look at the Ratings
The fourth season of The Night Shift averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.96 million viewers. Compared to season three, it was down by 32% and down by 21%, respectively. The Night Shift did not stack up well against other NBC TV shows. Even among the Peacock Network’s summer series, it earned pretty low ratings, so the cancellation makes sense.

I love this show and wood love to see the night shift get picked up again. It’s actually interesting and something I look forward to watching when netflix finally gets it! I’m in that demographic but I don’t have cable so I need to wait for it. Please bring it back with its original cast. So many unanswered questions.
Why cancel one of your best shows? My wife and were really looking forward to seeing another season. Please reconsider your decision.
They can not do this to me! I have fallen for shows in the past and they cancel them, this show is fantastic! I can’t get over how they cancel good shows!
I just binge watched on Netflix and am left with so many questions. Very sad to hear there won’t be a season 5. Was very much excited for another season that I went to look and see when it would be released to only find it canceled. It was turning into one of my favorites.
Please bring it back. This show is so full of action and suspense. Plus what happened to Cain?? And how severely was Drew injured? Season 4 bounced all over the place and hard to follow at times. Too many locations and too many variables made for a less enjoyable season. Please renew The Night Shift for another season and give it a chance to bring up its ratings.

Y yall do this me an my wife love this show an her after was a medic in the army an hit her at home to see really what went on I love bc I’m a fire an rescue an it lets people see just how hard it is this sucks
Omg seriously Night Shift has been cancelled?? This is bogus!! I loved watching the show & was looking forward to Season 5.
I love this show, please reconsider and bring it back. Not everyone has cable so we watch it on other sources and these companies need to give time to those to see what the true ratings are on these shows

Just finished binge watching season 4 on Netflix, I can’t believe this show is cancelled!! The best shows never last long, at least this one lasted longer than Trauma :'(

It’s a true shame that NBC cancelled the heart felt, funny, emotional and tear jerking show. Let’s hope another network see the true potential and revive The Night Shift for a fifth season and more. And a must with the current cast.
