It’s time for San Antonio Memorial’s emergency room night shift staff to clock out. The Night Shift TV show has been cancelled after four seasons on NBC. The medical drama first premiered in of May of 2014. It ran as a summer series, except in season two, when it was a mid-season replacement.
Airing on the NBC television network, The Night Shift stars Robert Bailey Jr., Eoin Macken, Jill Flint, Brendan Fehr, Scott Wolf, Tanaya Beatty, and JR Lemon, with Mark Consuelos recurring in season four. The series centers on the quirky, yet extraordinary emergency room night shift at San Antonio Memorial, who’ll risk almost anything to save their patients.
The Night Shift: A Look at the Ratings
The fourth season of The Night Shift averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.96 million viewers. Compared to season three, it was down by 32% and down by 21%, respectively. The Night Shift did not stack up well against other NBC TV shows. Even among the Peacock Network’s summer series, it earned pretty low ratings, so the cancellation makes sense.

This show would have made it passed season 4 if it was running on the same network as Grey’s Anatomy while it was in production. So if both series ran opposite each other they would have complimented each other. The night shift brought light into the world of PTSD and veterans and it wasn’t afraid of controversy. Please bring back this show even if it’s done through Netflix or Hulu or any other streaming service.

Season 5 needs to continue it is a great show I’ve watched all the season and episodes and was looking forward to seeing season 5 all the characters in the show are amazing and all together is a great show .
Season 5 NEEDS to happen. They left too much undone. The people in the show are too relatable in this time and I think that it should be brought back at least for a closing season.
Completely binge watched the show in about a week. Already among my favorite shows. As a future doctor and navy sailor, it really hits close to home. This is a show that needs to be brought back ASAP!!!
Love the show it doesnt dwell on negative issues and ex partners get along and help each other unlike lots of medical dramas. Please bring the show back its positivity is heart lifting and is needed by its audience. Lifts spirits so should bebrought back.
I’m just starting it and I’m already hooked!! To find out now that it has been canceled is completely heartbreaking! Please bring it back, Netflix you’re only hope here please pick this amazing show up for season 5!!
I just got done with “THE NIGHT SHIFT” and they need to bring it back I would go as far as saying it’s the most interesting show and I dislike how they left it right there and not even make a goodbye episode. This is just my opinion.
Night Shift is one of the best action packed medical tv show I have seen in years canceling this show leaves many questions unanswered and a fifth season should be made. You cannot leave a great series with that kind of cliff hanger!

Although I didn’t began watching this show until it was released on Netflix. I still love this show. Just as many of my favorites, because of my working hours I don’t have time to watch it during the schedule time, but thanks to Netflix I can watch, catch up on all my favorites. So maybe you and Netflix or Hulu can collaborate together and get this show back on the air. I love this show and I am hoping for it’s return.

My daughter & I were watching on Netflix and got hooked. We are so disappointed this show is no longer airing please bring it back. I’ve never even heard of it until Netflix. Netflix should really pick them up to continue. I hate getting hooked to a show and set up with anticipating scenes to come to finally get answers you’ve been waiting for just to leave you with your own imagination. Not that I dont have a great imagination but would have loved to see where they intended on going with all their storylines with each character.
