ABC is already making some changes to their fall line-up, reports Deadline.
The network is pulling Biblical saga Of Kings and Prophets from the Sunday night schedule. It will be replaced by Quantico, a drama that had been slated for the dreaded Tuesdays at 10pm timeslot. ABC hasn’t announced what will fill that empty space as yet.
Of Kings and Prophets received mixed reactions at the recent network upfronts and the pilot hadn’t been completed when ABC execs set the Fall 2015 schedule. Word is that the show’s future may be in jeopardy as the series gets retooled and the episode order gets cut from 13 to 10 installments. Some roles are also being recast.
Here’s the network preview from a couple weeks ago:
What do you think? Does this look like a show you’d watch? Should the network dump it?
We loved Of Kings and Prophets. It was a great show and was even fact based. Shows like Scandal, which we are thinking it should be cancelled since she killed the presidents baby and has sex with lots of people. Come on guys, there was no reason to cancel.and you should have shown this on Sunday night when people are wanting and expecting a show like this. Very sad
I think they should let of kings and phophets continue or the series should be on dvd..I have no intention to watch Quantico or any other show in place of kings and phrophets
The show was not bad, but it was not biblically accurate. For me that is where it went wrong. As for families Leting kids watch it, it’s 10:00 at night for a reason and your kids should be in bed
Can`t get interested in anything, for fear of them leaving you hanging. I now wait to see if a show has several seasons before getting interested. At least the networks are getting a little smarter and having finales to some shows.
I look forward to a biblical saga, it is something different from the status quo medical, cop, legal dramas. There are some valuable life lessons from stories from the bible. I loved the movie “The Red Tent”. I would like to see more on TV but with no gratuitous sex and violence, please.
I can’t wait for Of Kings and Phrophets to start. It looks like a very good series. I like them being 13 episodes long. I will give a series a shot.
Anyone thinking what I’m thinking???? Could they be bringing Forever back?????? Fingers crossed
THAT WOULD BE TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR BUT WE CAN HOPE.
I will say that the preview does look interesting. However, I think this is something that would be much better suited to be a mini-series than a full series. This is a subject that can get very stale really fast and it would be best to just have 10 episodes for this. Personally myself, I prefer 10, 13 and no more than 16 episodes per season for any show. Fewer episodes lessens the chance of having the inevitable “filler” episodes. It forces the writers to stay on target and not go off on silly tangents that bring nothing to the… Read more »
Looks like a fairly accurate depiction of those events. If they don’t want to put it on TV, then DVD may be the way. Let someone else take it and make it a short series like A.D. I’d watch it definitely!
Good choice to can it. Hold no interest at all for me. I have no interest in a period drama set in this “period”. I find it interesting that from the preview it looks like a drama mixing gore, violence, sex, and religion and someone thinks it’s a good family show. What have we come to?
I’m shocked that ABC is moving Quantico to Sundays @ 10 even though the network is benching Of Kings and Prophets for mid-season. It’s going to be either a new or returning series to fill the void for the 10 p.m. Tuesday night time slot. List of candidates: The Family, The Catch, Wicked City, American Crime or Secrets and Lies.
I think the preview video is awesome and I would definitely watch this show. I am so sick of all the crime dramas and reality shows.
It looks like a very good show!!! Why take it off before giving it a chance .. sunday is a good day put it on its a good family show … people need a little spiritual awakening!!! Its time!
I heard that Forever would be saved and fill the empty space. Let’s hope so!
“It will be replaced by Quantico, a drama that had been slated for the dreaded Tuesdays at 10pm timeslot.”
I remember when 10 PM Tuesday was the best timeslot of the week: for my mother, it was when THE FUGITIVE was on. For me, it was the timeslot of THIRTYSOMETHING and NYPD BLUE.
Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
ABC has had a real problem filling that timeslot in recent years.
The 10 p.m. Tuesday night time slot continues to be a “black hole” for ABC. The network should have move Castle to Tuesdays @ 10 instead of staying put on Mondays @ 10 after DWTS which has been there since the very first season.
