The Suits TV show was a big success for USA Network and ran for many seasons. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the Pearson spin-off series. After a disappointing run, the show has been cancelled so there won’t be a second season in 2020.
A legal and political drama, Pearson stars Gina Torres, Morgan Spector, Bethany Joy Lenz, Simon Kassianides, Eli Goree, Isabel Arraiza, and Chantel Riley, DB Woodside, and Betsy Brandt. The Suits spin-off centers on Jessica Pearson (Torres) who, after being disbarred, left New York City for the rough and tumble world of Chicago politics. Now she serves as the fixer for the Windy City’s working-class Mayor Bobby Novak (Spector), who is up for reelection. Jessica is just trying to reconcile her competitive nature and desire to win with her goal of doing the right thing.
The first season of Pearson averaged a meager 0.10 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 513,000 viewers. Of the nine recent scripted series on USA Network, Pearson ranks last in the demo and in eighth place in viewers (just above Mr. Robot, which is ending). The 10th and (now) final episode of Pearson aired on September 18th.

Loved the show. Am disappointed that it has been canceled. Maybe USA will re-think this. Hope so. There are not many good shows being aired.
I enjoyed the show. While not up to the same level of Suits, I felt as though it might with a bit of time. I’ve heard others say that it didn’t compare to Suits, but, in my estimation, season compared to season instead of season to a multitude of seasons’ success, I thought it was coming on nicely. I would have, and still do, wanted to see this show go at least one more season.

Loved Pearson! Give it a chance with a second season … each episode left me wanting more, especially the last one! You can’t leave a cliffhanger like that … I want to see McGann go down!!!
This was one of my favorite new shows. Jessica Pearson is everything! Networks need to give a show at least to find their audience. Stop getting us hooked then canceling so quickly. Torres is fabulous. Hopefully I’ll see her in the future.
I am so disappointed that this show has been cancelled! I loved every episode and to leave us hanging with the last episode……it’s a shame.
I loved the show Pearson and extremely disappointed that there will not be a season 2, especially as it ended in a ‘cliff hanger’.
Just finished watching the series. Stories well designed, well performed. Each episode left me wanting more. Sad that story has ending with the desire, the anticipation, for the next episode. Like Suits, the show is for grown-ups who can appreciate the complex characters without violence. Agree that the audience wasn’t inspired by enough advert teases. Pity.
Pearson has just screened online in Australia, binged the first series and was looking forward to more eps. Fantastic cast and excellent storyline, really disappointed that it’s been canned. Hopefully there will be a rethink.

Just finished watching back to back episodes of Pearson. Great storylines, great character in Jessica Pearson by an equally great actor and cast. It deserves a second season at least. Probably needed better advertising.
