NBC has been promoting Persons Unknown as a mini-series and that the show’s mysteries will be answered by the end. The show has not performed well in the ratings so hopefully the network will let all 13 episodes air.
If they do pull the series early, the show is scheduled to be put out on DVD. According to Amazon, it’s scheduled for an August 31st release but that’s likely to change because NBC won’t have aired all of the episodes until early September.
Some readers have noticed that the DVD set is titled Persons Unknown: The Complete First Season
Executive Producer Remi Aubuchon recently told Collider that, when they were shooting it, they did so believing it would be an on-going series. Though they wanted it to go on, he made sure that they answered all of the questions by the end of the first season, to make it a satisfying story for viewers.
Could there be another season? Aubuchon said, “It’s not unheard of, in the course of life, that if there’s enough interest in it, we could consider going a second season or doing another chapter. I keep looking at it as books in a series, and this season is the first book. I feel confident that we will have a beginning, middle and end, in this season, and it was wise of NBC to then call it what it really is, which is a mini-series.”
He continued, “24 is a really good example, in that there was a definitive beginning, middle and end for the first season. They had a slightly different format than we have, but the second season just retained Jack Bauer and a few other players, with the same basic format and idea, but it was a completely different show. I’m not saying that that’s exactly where we’re going, but certainly I think that there’s room for saying, ‘Hey, look, we told one story of a continuing saga.’ You should be able to pick this book up and get to the last line of the season and go, ‘Wow! Well, I hope there’s a second season, but at least I feel satisfied that I got to see all of this. They answered it all for me.”
Unfortunately, it looks unlikely that NBC would be interested in another season but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t return on another channel or in another form.

Like “Denell”, I watched the entire first season (in a week) on Netflix and would seriously LOVE to see this show continued.
If they weren’t planning on making a second season why did they end the series on such a cliffhanger? I would love to see another season made and will be disappointed if no answers are answered.
I can’t believe they want to end up this show, especially when i saw how they ended up the season one I want see them in the next level. I think season 2 would be great and full of mysterious people and secrets.
I really am tired of “tv” corporations starting shows for a season, then canceling, leaving no closure to us viewers. Also, why don’t the “tv big dogs” all invest in one/or a few channels that air only the over satuated cop or medical show. Maybe then they can try some new shows with a longer time to test and more shows such as this!

please do the 2nd season. it is really awesome ideea. i would like to watch the same actors. i wanna see the “2nd level”. and… how will they get to level 10.
I love the series and the way they ended the second episode makes every viewer wanting more! so whatever channel its on syfy, anything it should show because it is an awesome series.
I hope to see a Season 2 of Person’s Unknown. I wasn’t able to watch it when it originally aired but I did get to see it through NetFlix and the show was EXCELLENT and so were the actors. Please do a second season.

I can’t BELIEVE this absolute NONSENSE!!! Whose idea was it NOT to make a seson 2 for Persons unknown!!!!!! THEY’RE CRAZY!!!!! I absolutley am in love with this show, and will absolutley be DEVESTATED if there is not a season 2 to finish off with that cliff hanger-ending!I agree with M Goodwin, they should at least continue the show on a smaller network! I HEART PERSONS UNKNOWN!

I, too, would LOVE TO SEE SEASON 2! It’s different and captivating.
Me and my sister would love to see a second season. its bad enough they took Happy Town off ABC,,, shame on you, then Persons Unknown came along it was all better, we fell in love with the show only to be disapionted again. Please have a second season…. Cant stand all these stupid cops and doctor shows. its driving me crazy to pay all this money to watch tv
I was a devoted watcher to this “mini series” when it originally aired and have been waiting for hopefully a second season. There has been no mention of it and all this leaves me feeling depressed. I was completely taken in by this show. I thought it was a wonderful concept and the finale left me wanting more!
Just finished watching the whole season in 4 days. Great show! There needs to be another season. If not the major TV stations, why not SyFy or another cable network.
