The first season of Power recently finished airing on Starz, leaving fans of the TV show ready for a second season. The series was already renewed for season two which will start airing in 2015. But now, there are rumors that those plans have been cancelled. What’s going on?
Created by Courtney Kemp Agboh and produced by rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Power revolves around James “Ghost” St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick) — the owner of Truth, a popular New York nightclub. He seems to have it all; a successful business, a beautiful wife and an amazing Manhattan penthouse. However, his club is actually a front for a lucrative drug network. Ghost decides he want to finally leave the drug world and go legitimate but that’s easier said than done.
The rest of the cast includes Lela Loren, Naturi Naughton, Joseph Sikora, Andy Bean, Adam Huss, Kathrine Narducci, Sinqua Walls, Luis Antonio Ramos, Greg Serano, and Lucy Walters.
The rumors of the show’s cancellation are false and seem to stem from an article on a website called Cream Bmp Dail.
The article reads, “Stars announced they will be cancelling the second season of hit show ‘Power’ until further notice due to creator and star 50 Cent pulling out due to an upcoming G-Unit reunion tour.” It’s been shared 3,250 times on Facebook — and most people who see the post likely don’t realize that its source is a satire site.
Starz has not released a statement about season two not moving forward. Aside from the fact that there are several inaccuracies in the article, a disclaimer on the site reads, “This website is comprised of satire and parody of current news and urban culture. For entertainment purposes only.”
Season two of Power is set to start filming in September for a planned 2015 debut.
What do you think? Do you like the Power TV show? Are you looking forward to season two? Did you get fooled by the article?

Ghost wife is not Angela is Tasha aka “T”
I love Power. This TV Series captivated my attention and I keep thinking about it. Ghost wife reminds me of the scripture in the Bible where it states do not give more attention to your outer adornment than your inside attributes. Most drug dealers end up in prison or dead. Angela (Ghost wife) need to focus on herself (e.g education) and her children. You shouldn’t put all your eggs in one basket (e.g. for example if Ghost goes down she is left with nothing). Her mother was trying to explain that to her. Angela may need to build her skills… Read more »
it rock’s its the best
This is one of the best series Starz has ever produced. It has all the elements of a leading show. The actors are not award winners but u can’t tell when you watch the show. The writters r fabulous and they keep it edgy and very entertaining. Ghost is the entrapanuer/drug dealer that everyone loves or loves to hate!!! Tommy I perfectly hard yet scetch. What better combo for a thrilling show wit so much more to offer!!!
This show is good but it’s not like Wire.
The show is the bomb…
Bring it back the best show since the wire!
I am a 72 year old woman,by the time you continue the series,i will be 73 I hope,so what the hell is the problem, please don’t tell me you are changing the actors, everyone is just perfect don’t change anybody, how long do we have to wait, atleast we should be told instead of biting our fingernails

Great show! We enjoyed it so much! Looping forward to season 2!!!
Congratulations Starz On Demand. Power is well written, with talented actors
and creative music that is perfect for the story.. Omari Harwick steals the screen with
his convincing acting ability as “Ghost”and a sexy body that is great to look at. I have
watched all 7 or 8 episodes several times, and I am looking forward to the new season. The casting for Power is excellent, the directing superb, and the music is good listening
and appropriate for the story. I hope Power will continue for several more seasons.
I discovered Power last summer and thoroughly enjoyed it. Omari Hardwick is excellent in this role. I agree with other writes that the actors compliment each other, the writers do a superb job and the music sets the right tone for the environment. I searched the networks for the return of the show is September and I have been hoping to find news of the shows return. Please bring it back as soon as possible.
